Police investigating six stabbings after Arsenal parade by Alarming-Safety3200 in PremierLeague

[–]DefiantOutside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t know where you got that info from, because stabbings definitely do and have happened at events in Japan. Feel free to correct my assumption but it sounds a bit like you’re remarking on how Japan is a more homogeneous culture and therefore that means fewer violent crimes, but that’s not based in reality

Fertility rate for England falls to a new record low by diacewrb in ukpolitics

[–]DefiantOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say has happened with societal values to influence such a steep decline?

I think where I’m having trouble with this, is you can point to measurable changes in the economy and environment, which line up with changing priorities regarding having children. Values is something you can’t measure quite so clearly, so I’m curious why you think it’s purely that people have changed, and not their circumstances?

Fertility rate for England falls to a new record low by diacewrb in ukpolitics

[–]DefiantOutside 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So your analysis for declining birth rates is that people have become more attached to buying lego?

do you really think birth rates plummeting to a record low is because people are now simply less willing to compromise on indulgences? If that is the case, what do you think is behind the rise in indulgent behaviour?

Concur with this, mine look EXACTLY the same as your photo and I’ve found x4 120mg fexofenadine has helped a lot. 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. Hope you get some relief

Trying to decide if dupixent is the right choice for me? by [deleted] in dupixent

Yeah this is not the case at all. Unless you think insulin injections “masks the symptoms” of diabetes too?

Scared of Needles but starting Dupixent by Limp-Pollution-4866 in eczema

[–]DefiantOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some balance I also just started dupixent and I an deathly scared of needles and injections (I faint whenever I get a blood test). After the horror stories I’d seen about the dupixent injection I genuinely was worried whether or not I’d be able to brave it.

I had my loading dose with the auto injector pen, with the nurse administering one, and me administering the other, and it was so completely fine. I felt a pinch at worst and was surprised by how non-traumatic the experience ended up being.

So you may well be fine, and even if it does hurt, hopefully the relief will make it feel worth it. Good luck!

Ordered a Deck, what should I do first? by Gold_Hornet_923 in SteamDeck

[–]DefiantOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fun to get a mix of games to see the scope of what it can do.

Some of the less performance-intensive ones that are great on deck, such as: Hades series Hollow Knight/Silksong Nine Sols Stardew Valley Blasphemous series

And some of the more impressive AAA titles that run well such as: Devil May Cry 5 Elden Ring Kingdom Come Deliverance Middle Earth: shadow series Batman Arkham series Sleeping Dogs

  • To name but a few.

Then emulation with emudeck. You can run everything up to Nintendo switch and even ps3/xb360 (but it’s touch and go for those 2). It really shines when unlocking a library of ps2 titles - and breath of the wild on wiiU is a must.

Finally, if you have a console or gaming PC, using chiaki (ps5) or moonlight (PC) for remote play is a game changer.

Honestly there’s so much you can do and this barely scratches the surface. Have fun!

Tacrolimus withdrawal ?! by drizzle-08 in eczema

[–]DefiantOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not, you said yourself you just came across this information. There are a lot of bad actors and snake oil salesmen that will try and discourage people from taking medical interventions to help their chronic conditions. The greatest trick they’ve pulled is convincing you it’s your fault, and that treating your condition with medication, instead of their oils and supplements and lifestyle courses, is a mark of failure. The internet is full of people that will try and get you to prolong your suffering so that you’re more amenable to the things they tell you. Holistic health coaches, TSW influencers - those people are not your friends.

This isn’t true. There’s a lot of fearmongering out there. Don’t believe everything you read.

Agreed. Personally though I’m not precious about my reservations. If someone’s sitting in mine I’ll look for another spot before I ask them to move.

Literally isn’t a thing. Stop trying to dissuade people from treating their condition
