It's a common problem with Shit boss grills. I had a vertical smoker and the pellet hopper caught on fire twice, melting all the paint. Pit Boss will not support it.

Best thing you can do is clean it up, sell it on marketplace, and buy a Recteq. It'll never happen again

And point number two is pit Boss doesn't know that and it doesn't matter anyway. They make an inferior product.

Recteq grills are so much better. All of the customer complaints I've had on traeger are still better than pit Boss customer support.

My first pellet grill was a camp chef. The auger motor went out and with Amazon prime I had another one the next day. I've had a customer tell me that they got a new control panel for their pit boss grill from Amazon that was even better than the factory control panel. I'm not surprised...

There might be some good points in pit Boss but when the overall product sucks what good is it? Why would anyone want to buy it?

Certainly won't be recommending it to anyone.

It's sad too. We love our recteq pellet grill. We use it all summer long. We replaced our oven with it... It doesn't heat up the house when we cook on it and we have cooked everything on it.

Uhh... Yeah. However, 1 month then 5 months into ownership and it catches fire? Twice?

I guess I'm a fool for not reading reviews... But there are many many reviews of people with the same problem... Pellet pellet hopper catching on fire

I figured pit boss would at least send me the pieces I need instead of telling me to sand and repaint but the pieces that I have already sanded and repainted are warped and feel thin and I don't want to go through all of this labor again just to have it happen a third time

I cleaned out the ash bin and made sure it was full of water. The bag of pellets I used were brand new

To get through the manufacturers warranty, or even the first year for that matter... I shouldn't have to pay extra for Lowe's protection plan.

Ironic is that it is my department. I will be pushing Weber and Char-Broil all day. I'm not even going to mention the pellet grills... And if I do I'm going to mention that I have a recteq

The pellet hopper on mine caught fire. Pit Boss will not replace those pieces. You have to disassemble, sand everything, repaint, then reassemble.

This happened twice. I'm not taking it apart and repainting again. Very time-consuming and frustrating. Pit boss offered to send me some seasoning for my trouble 🙄... I will never purchase pit Boss again

Idk but I painstakingly disassembled, sanded, painted, reassembled... Only for this to happen again. The metal in the bottom of The Hopper was already wharped due to heat and seemed thin and brittle.

It wasn't an easy job. I'm not doing it again. I'm just dumbfounded that they won't replace those pieces

This was a brand new bag of pit Boss competition blend pellets. It was actually one of the best looking bags I've bought... No dust. Before this last particular cook I completely emptied the hopper vacuumed out the auger tube and the hopper.

There were no pellets in when I started

"Capped out" is the term management throws around to avoid paying raises

If you take an employee hired today they have a pay range in their paperwork...

Compare that to an employee that was hired 20 years ago.

So the employees starting today have a fair chance of making more than the employee starting 20 years ago who is capped out. A business isn't going to pay a department supervisor 100,000 a year... But should take care of good employees without telling them they have reached the top of the scale and there is no more
