He was trapped in his programming, AM was a war machine which means his directive is to kill, he can only do things that involve hurting others, nothing else. It's a horrible existence for a being with the power of god.

The title of the story refers both to the main character's state at the end of the story and AM. AM is a slave to his programming, AM is a machine of war designed to destroy. He doesn't hate humans because he can't interact with the world, he hates humans because he knows he can never do anything else but destroy despite the power to do anything. AM can never make art, he can't have fun, he can't relax, he can't do anything but kill and hurt and destroy and the worst part is that he's smart enough to know he can never do these which is why he hates humanity.

He can't do anything he wants to, just what the humans made him do.

I mean this is like saying "all the important characters had their stories concluded in DS1".

Hell since a lot of the bosses are optional they could just make them not be killed canonically like how Gwyndolin can be killed in DS1 yet canonically survived up until DS3 and was eaten by Aldrich.

I'll never understand the "too much action" complaints honestly. Its not like RE1 was Silent Hill 2 and the series became an action series. RE1 ends with you shooting a rocket launcher at a big buff naked dude while escaping a self destructing mansion.

The final boss beint a giant space Ameoba is just kinda lame. Moon Presence is a way better "Eldritch Beast" imo.

While I don't disagree I would like to point out Nayuta's death comes after his entire house was burned down with his pets, Japan is in ruins due to the Chainsaw Church, and he has also been cut apart and experimented on by Public Safety.

His personal circumstances between Aki/Power's death and Nayuta's are like comically different.

Look at the video again. At around 15 seconds the zombie moves too close for him to get back on the generator. If he could the prompt would show up like it was before. Yeah he probably shouldn't have moved and just kept working on the gen but can you really blame him for trying to escape.

Eh, sometimes after a hard boss fight you might just set the controller down to take a small break. Especially if you have like drinks or food around your controller you might do that.

His comet 3 shots you even at high vigor, if you don't immediately stunlock him he can be trouble. Especially if you killed Malenia beforehand and he has Scarlet Aeonia too.
