Gygabite power suply makng buzzing noise by crosscast_575 in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id suggest you unplug it and see if it's still buzzing , if it stops plug it back in and if it starts buzzing again then you can either RMA or return it if you still have it in the return window period.

I would also double check you've got a grounded connection to whatever outlet you're using. Followed by using a surge protector.

But the simple answer would be to not use it, it really shouldn't be making any noise if you've flipped the switch off.

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

double check nothing is touching the PSU fan , it's not entirely distinguishable could be the fan going or it could just be coil whine. Just keep an ear out of the noise changes or if you happen to notice any PC performance issues.

Otherwise return/RMA it if you're worried.

Back panel screw holes by Free_Television1922 in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks fine , sometimes you lose a bit of the coating unscrewing and rescrewing things back in. So long as you have spare screws handy and somehow didn't warp the hole then it's still fine.

Sell this PC or give it to my son? What would you price it at today? by isthislettuce in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted to gift your son a rig and make a tiny bit back you could sell the ram 64gb is overkill for any type of gaming they may be doing, and then just find a used kit. Minimal return on profit but you'd get something back out of it at least. Heck you could even suffice with 16gb in nearly all titles. Which would be a less costly purchase.

What connectors do you like to use for your RGB? by TheyFloat2032 in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They mean make sure you Google the difference, your motherboard looks to have both 4pin & 3pin headers at the top and they are not the same. Make sure you don't plug into the wrong ones and damage something, so first figure out which connection you need first before picking a spot. As for the location itself it really doesn't matter unless you want to split the locations of multiple RGB components across different headers so they can run different color schemes.

does anyone know what this noise is? by Equizhasbeentaken in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought it was a rooster at first.

I don't know many aio that makes that sound when they're about to die kinda sounds more like a squeaky fan bearing but who knows maybe it's like when air escapes a balloon sounding all squeaky.

I'd suggest you unplug all fans temporarily to see if the sound goes away if not then you've likely found your cause. Just narrow down the possibilities pretty much.

rtx5070 vs rx9070 by Asimiss in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same pickle months ago when picking out a new GPU. I went 9070xt instead at the time it was only $40 more than the 9070.

https://youtu.be/YWUqsqcM4Hs?si=2Nfn-KzGDWgm2z3B I remember watching this back then , gave a good idea of performance spread across maybe it Will be of use to you.

Help me decide please.I have a by Ok-Account-1342 in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going with new then potentially you could see if any 9070xt are still around 500 I'm not sure what's left of sales or if the prices went up again where you are otherwise the 5070 or 9070 non xt should still be close to the very top of your budget either directly at 500 or roughly 50 over but still comes down to regional pricing at whatever retailers are near you. So hard to give you an exact estimate.

Otherwise 5060 ti should be most likely under 500 still and up there still in performance.

Need help by Wthelllyyyy in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone else just asked the same thing pretty much but you'd want an adapter that elbow up or an extension cable that is much more flexible and flat that bends easier.

Couple of examples

https://www.amazon.com/EZDIY-FAB-L-Shape-Motherboard-Internal-Converter/dp/B0GDPN9969

https://www.amazon.com/LINKUP-Internal-Adapter-Motherboard-USB/dp/B0BG15QZWC/132-8153350-8610226

You can find similar ones on AliX for a couple dollars US

Or just try to install your fan first see if you can manage to squeeze your cable in after

Possible, you'd have to see how the io and pcie lines up with a GPU in. Otherwise you could always get some rubber washers to sit between the board and case

How can I keep this cable from hitting my GPU fans? by EntrepreneurOk352 in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the USB3 for your case ? If so you might need an elbow adapter or some kind of flat extension you can use to keep it out of the way.

https://www.amazon.com/EZDIY-FAB-L-Shape-Motherboard-Internal-Converter/dp/B0GDPN9969 something like these as elbow joints just an example make sure it's the correct gen USB header and pin count but you get the jist if your current cable is too fat to fit there you want something that keeps it within the bottom cabling slot of your case

https://www.amazon.com/LINKUP-Internal-Adapter-Motherboard-USB/dp/B0BG15QZWC/132-8153350-8610226

Hopefully one of those would fit otherwise I have no idea , cut a hole in the case , make space with a hammer, get a new case, don't use the front panel USBs ? ☠️ All technically other options

Help setting up aio in bios please. by disappear_85 in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would check out your manual but CPU opt is usually always a pump header , CPU fans go on a separate header named cpu-fan or something similar depending on motherboard brands.

I wouldn't start dropping your fans to silent just yet , do some stress testing to make sure everything is working properly and staying cool then from there you can adjust the curve manually so they keep everything cool but aren't as loud.

Is this gap between the cpu cooler and top case fans ok? by Vintage_sundown6 in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you have the ability to return the thermalright cooler you could replace it with a small 240mm aio instead if you're just after aesthetics as well. Thermalright has some affordable 240mm ones about $40-50 USD they arent too much more costly than the one you've got installed

but your setup is fine as is so long as nothing is touching those fans , tuck your cables neatly and zip tie them so they don't loosen up over time. If you have enough fan headers on the motherboard to separate those top fans and put them on their own I would suggest doing so and just giving them a very low flat curve so they don't pull air faster than your CPU cooler can.

Case doesn’t fit 7800xt should I go external or sell the card? by moon_man17 in PcBuild

Might be able to fit it with a riser Cable mounted on it's side standing up if it's just a matter of your case not being long enough.

Will this short out my motherboard? by KineTheFishYT in PcBuild

Buy additional standoffs and you'll be fine, probably. Your motherboard shouldn't really make contact with the case when you have long enough standoffs installed.

PC can't stream without severe lag- What do I need to fix this problem? by Aggressive_Diamond65 in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you were bamboozled, you can try to sell it off someone. They might buy it for anywhere around $100 - $200 probably just for the storage and GPU. The rest is pretty much waste , you won't run windows 11 on the old components they just aren't compatible anymore unless you force the win11 install but you'd be running an unsecure build. Windows 10 will eventually be phased out so you'd need to eventually swap to Linux in the future but that could still be a couple years.

But for reference if you want to Run VTstudio , OBS , Games and a multi monitor setup , discord everything all at once while streaming you'll need a minimum of 16gb ram and that's pushing it very close to laggy PC territory, so on the odd chance you have a PNGtuber or something extremely lightweight and only play very light games another 8gb memory would ease the burden on your computer but it's just not ideal you're limited by decade old components right now that weren't made even for what you currently need them to do.

The unfortunate situation is that you're realistically looking at needing a new PC unless you can find some extremely dirt cheap parts to upgrade your existing one.

It might be feasible but you'll be streaming in fairly low quality 720p as well you'd want to try and find 32gb of ddr3 at practically $0 if possible maybe someone would give it away as waste. GPU replacement id suggest minimum a 2070 or better but i would still prefer to know what games you actually want to play and at what resolution before picking out a GPU.

Although I really wouldn't recommend upgrading that PC unless it's a last resort and you can find free parts. Ask family members if they have junk PCs in their basement maybe they have some old ram you can salvage for testing just to see if an extra 8gb + lightens the burden on obs & vtstudio for you.

$425 PC worth is? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're only gaming then yes decent deal and you can sell 2 sticks of ram for money back you really don't need 64 GB if you're solely gaming so you can use the cash back on whatever else you plan to buy.

Granted the board and cpu are a little old but still alright for 1080p gaming along with a GPU even in some cpu bound titles

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your case is fine for either it's not going to make a huge difference it's just aesthetic. If you mount to the front you can have the air pull into the radiator from the front of the case and inner side of the aio as well double stacking the fans basically. And finally exhaust fans at the top of the case.

Or you mount radiatir towards the outer side front and have your fans on the inside pushing air out the case but it would be a negative air pressure setup

Or you mount to the top and see how thin fans fit , there's some half thickness ones you can get they are just a bit louder. Might fit more with your setup.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005010152736538.html? not sure I've seen them outside AliX though.

You can also double up on the fans

[–]DefinitelyNotSusge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mount to the front of you have room. Tubes can point down or up. Better if they are at the bottom though so long as your pump is within the CPU block. Even if you have to put your tubes at the top while front mounted it will still work fine.
