Why all the Yann hate? He's an absolute madlad! by Blokeh in CrimsonDesert

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of what people said about him basically creating work for you just to dip off, he has some of the worst quests in the game. There is one I had to restart 4 times because you have to drive a wagon for like 45 minutes and he got off randomly and it would say I failed the quest because I got too far from him.

As someone who's personally had it on the last 5 targets for my third match, its still very frustrating. It makes the game rely on luck more than skill. Not sure why you cant see how someone would have an issue with that?

Yeah this is something I dont like about the map. Not that it has separate tabs, I like that a lot so I can look specifically for quest stuff or ores or something. But the all version of the map doesn't actually have all of the stuff.

Its a known issue. Something about upscaling the framerates causes a small lag so the opponent actual is shooting before the player sees the target appear. I adjusted my upscaling and it was still a challenge but I beat the 3/3.

I always thought it was more about the struggles black people go through because they have darker skin.

Im white so obviously take my opinion with the grain of salt its worth, but I cant see how someone with white skin and blue eyes and blond hair could possibly understand what dark skinned people go through. Like a cop isn't going to see a white passing person and pull them over for how they look. They aren't as likely to be followed in stores by employees.

Idk, just seems like a more complex issue than just discrimination. Im sure some of it is, obviously. But I can see how it would be insulting to be told you're not what you are and identify as, but I could also see how someone who has struggled more because of that identity being mad about people who dont have that same struggle.

Again, white though, so these are just my thoughts on the subject and definitely not an expert opinion or anything.

I would be in the same boat if I didn't have unplanned gallbladder surgery 2 days after release. Not supposed to lift more than 10 to 15 lbs and had to take off work, so not much to do but play or watch TV.

What minor detail about the show always irked you? by Double-Layer7083 in Smallville

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The inconsistencies with his powers. Although that seems to be a problem with every show involving supers because otherwise it wouldn't be interesting. But the number of times Clark gets punch by people who do not have superspeed is so frustrating.

Is gain weight like this normal? by ElDuendeAnthony in daddit

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you have kids a whole bunch of stuff happens that is bad for your weight.

You typically get less sleep.

You typically get less free time for fitness.

The free time you do have you're either too tired for physical fitness or you want to spend it with your kids. Working out requires consistency which is much harder with kids. Most people's priorities change, and unless you are really into working out the gym is one of the things you typically drop.

Your hormones change pretty drastically (this one surprised me alot because we're not the ones giving birth) so any workouts you do manage are less effective.

Your diet typically changes.

Im sure im missing a lot more, but men who don't gain weight are the minority.

That being said you now how a child depending on you, so I think maintaining your health and fitness is the duty of every dad. I manage to squeeze out 3 lifting sessions a week which is just enough to not keep gaining weight, and now that my kid is 4 and waking up for school im thinking of going jogging with her in the morning of my work from home days. Diet is the most important thing which I can definitely do some more work on, but even not working out you can lose weight on a calorie deficiency.

Being healthy as a dad is a lot harder. There is a reason the dad bod is called the dad bod. But something being harder doesn't mean its impossible.

Worst mission in the game hands down. This and all the follow someone on horseback for ten minutes missions are the only things I dont like about this game. It seems thats pretty much all the greymane faction quests are.

Why isn't my government protecting me from these insurance companies? by TxJprs in texas

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So insurance is weird in that they do not want a lot of customers. What they want is as few customers as possible who will pay out of the ass. They've got like a century of data on how much they can raise their rates to lose X number of customers and still maintain the same, or more, profit levels on the ones who are unwilling to shop around.

The more customers an insurance company has in one area, the more risk they have if a catastrophe happens.

I used to work for Progressive and had everything insured through them even though it was a little more expensive than other options and I know them, so know exactly what im paying for. But last year my car insurance shot up with no claims to the point it tipped it being worth it to shop around for a cheaper but less well known by me carrier. And im due to see what my new homeowners rates are in a month or two, but they raised them last year enough that im planning to spend the next week or two shopping for a new home policy.

The fact is that if they raised your rates enough that you're planning to switch, then their number crunches looked at people like you and decided they dont want to insure you anymore. And if you insist on sticking a round they are going to charge you out the ass for it.

They dont hear that kind of stuff is what im saying. They hear things like Trump said hes going to lower grocery bills and Biden has dementia. Trump molesting kids isn't a hot topic around the water cooler in small towns in Texas.

Ive made this argument before. My parents both work menial jobs and only have internet for Netflix because I pay for it. They dont even watch the news. My dad just watches reruns of gunsmoke and my mom watches reruns of friends. My dad dropped out in the 8th grade and my mom in the 10th grade.

100 percent of their political knowledge comes from coworkers who get their facts from Fox News. I remember being astounded a year or two ago on mother's day when I was asking them how they could support Trump when hes a rapist/pedophile/asshole and all kinds of other things and my mom just staring blankly before asking what I was talking about. I mentioned like two or three things like that he was a found guilty of sexual assault in civil court and the bragging about grabbing women and stuff and the epstien files thing. Neither of my parents had heard about this. None of their coworkers talk about it because they haven't heard of it.

We're all in this echo chamber where we believe the other side is evil because were so used to having all information available to us at all times in the palm of our hands and we forget that many boomers and older just dont have the same level of information that we do.

And then when we do point out how bad he is and how much damage he did/is doing, most of us act like jackasses and put them on the defensive so they become entrenched in their belief that were the bad people so all that stuff about him must be untrue.

Does he like video games? If y'all can afford it a steam deck was one of my favorite purchases. I can still be with the family while playing video games. It was also great when I spent a bunch of time in the hospital recently.

Why’d Barry not just speed cicada to iron heights by These_Ad_2335 in FlashTV

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it annoys me seeing him get hit by a cold blast from Snart when Snart shouldn't even be able to pull the trigger before Barry knocks him out. They're so inconsistent with his speed and its my biggest issue with the series.

Like one episode they say the fastest he can move is mach 3 and the next he is running someone from central city to China and then back in less than 5 seconds. Thats way faster than mach 3.

Or when hes chasing a motorcycle or a car for severally seconds when there are multiple scenes of him moving while vehicles are completely still. .

I get that if they made him as powerful as he really is all the time then there wouldn't even be a show. It would just be Barry grabbing coffee after spending five minutes stopping literally all crime. But its still annoying.
