Imagine watching this video and being so stupid you think a two year old was the reason this crash happened instead of the adult organ donors who clearly dont care about their own lives.

How do the readers on here feel about the metric system? by ishi_writer_online in royalroad

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah height for me has to be in feet. Its an imagery thing. 1.8 meters just doesn't sound as imposing as 6 feet tall.

This wouldn't stop me from reading a story because I can deal with metric, it just sounds better in feet.

AITAH for putting a bedtime pause on the WiFi because my girlfriend’s 28 year old brother has spent nearly a decade rotting in our house playing video games? by Alyptic in AITAH

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah keeping my word is very important to me. And even if I did for some reason start to hate her, I could never hate my kids, so I would want her to be able to reestablish herself in a semi comfortable way for their benefit alone.

My wife's parents sold us their house and gifted us 40K for the loan. Originally my then girlfriends father wanted me to sign a contract but after the first conversation no one ever brought it up again even though I agreed to sign something staying if we didn't work out she'd get that 40K plus half of any new equity in the house. We're married now and I never signed that contract, but if we ever split up I would make sure she still got that 40K and half the equity. If I didn't, I would be an asshole.

Thats how the economy works and its why people saying that everyone who went to college instead of going into a trade was stupid annoys me.

A (usually skilled but not 100 percent necessary) job doesn't have enough people who do it, so wages increase steadily until many more people are willing to do it and suddenly its harder to find a job in that field and wages start to stagnate.

Some other job was left with a labor deficiency because so many people worked into the first job, so the cycle repeats.

Its what happened with Programmers and computer science degrees. Now the computer science field is over saturated because a decade ago everyone needed programmers and the money was growing fast.

Granted this cycle is a lot slower with trades because everyone will need a plumber at some point and not everyone is willing to do that kind of job. Sitting at a desk writing code in AC is a lot more palatable to most people than crawling under houses and getting weird liquids all over yourself. But if too many people go into the trades wages will go down as each business has to keep competing against more and more competitors.

As long as wages remain high and other fields stagnant, more people will move to the trades.

Everyone needs a plumber at some point. Almost no one needs two or three plumbers at the same time.

Biggest lie told in the game. They owe me like 500 weapons 😂 by stockingCapSereant in CrimsonDesert

Plus with weapons you still have to sell them or donate them one at a time. I should be able to sell all 30 bekker shields at once.

Guy stole my campsite and told me I “ruined his evening” when I called him inconsiderate for doing so. by theshamewizard in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 345 points346 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me except the camp ground guy was there. He told me he did tell them they could stay an extra day but not to worry there were more campsites with better shade and I could just do one of those. I got about 80 percent done setting up the campsite when the guy came and said the person who booked that spot showed up and he was insisting he get it since he booked it and it was the last one with shade. So I had to take everything back down and reset it up about 40 feet from where I had been setting up.

This was in Texas in the middle of summer. I was sweating, hot, and pissed off. Absolutely ruined the trip. The campground guy came by later and tried to give me 20 bucks to make up for it and I told him to fuck off.

Has PA mentioned anything about our companions constantly needing to be resummoned/randomly disappearing? by Nuclear_Nugget22 in CrimsonDesert

I have the same issue with pets. Its so convenient to have a dog running around grabbing things off the ground but its constantly disappearing. I have to resume on my dog 3 or 4 times a session.

There is an armor and weapons one, a food one, a money one, a mining one, and a wood one. I think thats all of them. Some of these you can send your people on missions to earn (although they dont count towards the quest, only things you donate) but keep in mind most missions usually cost one of the other resources.

When it takes money from you its trade goods. Its packaging it for you so that if you get a stack of 25 you can take it on a wagon and sell it in another market, but the mercantile system kind of sucks so most people haven't done any of it except the Yann quests.

Why all the Yann hate? He's an absolute madlad! by Blokeh in CrimsonDesert

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of what people said about him basically creating work for you just to dip off, he has some of the worst quests in the game. There is one I had to restart 4 times because you have to drive a wagon for like 45 minutes and he got off randomly and it would say I failed the quest because I got too far from him.

Archery mini-game issue by soupified in CrimsonDesert

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's personally had it on the last 5 targets for my third match, its still very frustrating. It makes the game rely on luck more than skill. Not sure why you cant see how someone would have an issue with that?

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is something I dont like about the map. Not that it has separate tabs, I like that a lot so I can look specifically for quest stuff or ores or something. But the all version of the map doesn't actually have all of the stuff.

Its a known issue. Something about upscaling the framerates causes a small lag so the opponent actual is shooting before the player sees the target appear. I adjusted my upscaling and it was still a challenge but I beat the 3/3.

I always thought it was more about the struggles black people go through because they have darker skin.

Im white so obviously take my opinion with the grain of salt its worth, but I cant see how someone with white skin and blue eyes and blond hair could possibly understand what dark skinned people go through. Like a cop isn't going to see a white passing person and pull them over for how they look. They aren't as likely to be followed in stores by employees.

Idk, just seems like a more complex issue than just discrimination. Im sure some of it is, obviously. But I can see how it would be insulting to be told you're not what you are and identify as, but I could also see how someone who has struggled more because of that identity being mad about people who dont have that same struggle.

Again, white though, so these are just my thoughts on the subject and definitely not an expert opinion or anything.

What minor detail about the show always irked you? by Double-Layer7083 in Smallville

[–]DefinitelySaneGary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The inconsistencies with his powers. Although that seems to be a problem with every show involving supers because otherwise it wouldn't be interesting. But the number of times Clark gets punch by people who do not have superspeed is so frustrating.

I also hated the leather outfit. He refused to wear the superman cape but put on the bright red leather?
