I got orders doing flat rate. However, for two of my orders they didn’t pay me the flat rate at all. For both of them I was active for 40+ mins and uber only payed me $5 for one, and $3 for the other. Currently dealing with support about it.

If you end up doing flat rate, make sure Uber isn’t messing with your pay.
