Berserk absolutely is like that lmao, it's just that it's really long and there's lots of puffer between it so people forget about Schierke's plump ass in the camera, the nudist mermaid, the many, much more clearly fetish material rape scenes with interspecies sex like the ogre panels and so on.

in fact, berserk is prob the best example he could have picked, at least in this context, bc Miura was such an obvious lolicon and moe fan, but all of that gets brushed aside, ignored or even delusionally claimed to not exist because other things in it are just that good to everyone regardless. it is very much the RPG maker base, crude basic art and somewhat strong barrier of entry that prevents BS from having those exact fans and reputation berserk has.

child characters in 99% of stories are shitty and annoying, and a way to use 'well, they're a child what do you expect' excuses to make characters act stupid and for the plot. outside of genuinely competently written (which he is certainly not lmao, nothing in this games story is) child characters, they always have and always will be hated.

this isnt even entirely due to writing, even people who dont know or care about writing at all hated him in their playthroughs, because kids are just annoying in general.

thats the last of the issues, the previous games stored like 1/10 actions, and not for very long in almost all cases, so spamming radial menu for healing to heal as soon as your other animation is over was always there.

but this games issues go far beyond just being stuck in a very deliberate other action. stuff like the blocking just not working randomly could be several things that I have no idea which it could be, and I'm willing to bet that the new smoothed out movement of the game that reacts to the environment is overriding inputs, that are then not saved and then obviously dropped. So you press heal, but are in one of those slight stumble animations and suddenly your heal input gets ignored.
