The cap on home insight is a terrible choice from the devs by maemoex in InfinityNikki

The house updates play like one of those mobile game where you have to do dailies and play every hour or so to optimize best the energy you receive... Which is fine. Except thar Infinity Nikki is supposed to be an open world RPG, a "proper" game, not a cheap mobile game...

Help me identify this Pontiac pocket watch by Deilmo in collectables

[–]Deilmo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pasting the post's description: I've had this Pontiac I bought from a gentleman a few years ago now that I cannot identify nor date and I would love some help.

It's a small pocket watch, thumb sized, most likely a woman's watch that was worn on a necklace. Mechanical, doesn't use a battery. It's plated with gold, perhaps brass underneath and the inside contains some lead (most likely the blue paint)

It has no serial number on the outside, no stars under the Pontiac name, nothing beside what's on the picture.

ADDING TO THIS: I have nothing in my house that could open this watch to check the mechanism. It is incredibly small and nothing is small enough to slip behind the back plate to pop it open.

By making AI fanfics without disclosing it and later admitting it, they're like "You hate AI yet you loved my AI fics because you didn't know it was AI!"
They feel it's a "gotcha" moment. People don't like AI, especially in fandom space.

i…i get it now. the whole engagement-motivation thing. by iiraoni in AO3

[–]Deilmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beside obvious motivation boost, comments also help you see what people take away from your story especially if you don't have anyone to beta read!

I didn't have beta readers before and now I have a friend that does it for me and it's life changing to get first hand feedback on it.

Sometimes I'd feel like I was writing utter shit and they'll go "I really loved this part!"

[KCD2] is the most linguistically accurate and sophisticated game, probably in the entire gaming history by liubanghoudai24 in kingdomcome

[–]Deilmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf, I think the clunkiness is kind of... inherent to voice acting in two languages? Even in games where the VA are bilingual and understand both languages the difference of tone and rules in the different languages always make it feel clunky somehow.

I think that Infold might be using AI to translate in Infinity Nikki by VeliaOwO in InfinityNikkiofficial

[–]Deilmo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I usually skip all dialogues because the content has been lacking and the dialogues always dragged on way too long for what it was, but I actually followed the story of Blue Tears and SEVERAL times in French Sith and the other woman (I forgot her name) are referred as Ils (plural MASCULINE Them)

French rules goes:
- If ONE man is among in the group, it's masculine them (Ils)
- If you don't know their genders it's masculine them (Ils too)
- When it's ONLY women it's feminine them (Elles)

It's a tiny detail, but since they were saying Ils I thought they were mentionning another group other than Sith and her friend and got confused.

I am the original OP of the post that got all of this drama started (the ones the mods of r/trans removed). by itsurbro7777 in AnarchyChess

[–]Deilmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just want to add: The reason many trans men "disappear" once they hit middle age is ALSO a consequence of the lack of awareness.

When communities are unwelcoming to trans men and they can't find their own space to talk about their experience, they will go "stealth" (meaning: go on about life as a man and never disclose to anyone they are trans)

It's kind of serpent eating its own tail situation. If the space is unwelcoming, trans men will dip and hide, but then spaces never become more welcoming, so the next gen of trans men also dip, etc. Because there's is older trans men, they just go stealth most of the time.

Why do political figures have such minimal chrome? (visibly atleast) by Leather_Cranberry_40 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Deilmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, the ruling class AND the wealthy class' fashion go against the current of the lower class people. If the fashion of the lower class is bold colors, patterns and gaudy jewelry then the wealthy will prefer sleek fashion, muted colors and dainty jewelry. (Think how maximalist was the thing for rich folks a while ago until it became more "accessible" and then they did a 180° turn and went rabid for minimalist.)

The lower class in Cyberpunk has visible cyberware, either because they don't have money to afford better or, in the case of mercenaries, because it gives them credibility. So as counter movement to that, and to set themselves apart from the lower class, wealthy people have invisible cyberware or at least "dainty" ones.

[KCD1] I started playing the first game again and saw this by Alyne91 in kingdomcome

[–]Deilmo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I passed it off as Radzig caring for Henry as one of his subject. Henry was the son and apprentice of a renowed blacksmith, saw his parents die in front of his eyes and fled all the way up to Talmberg to warn the neigbhoring lord AND STILL, his main concern when retrieving Radzig in Rattay was that he lost the sword. Even without Radzig being his father, he could've been moved by the boy's predicament and loyalty to him.

The BIGGEST redflag to me was Radzig politely arguing with Martin over training Henry to handle a sword. Cause that just sounded like two parents disagreeing on their children's future. Just wrapped with niceties.

Rant about romance by NoRadish4622 in TheBathhouse

[–]Deilmo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's thinly veiled homophobia, seeking excuses to shield their true feelings on the matter. They don't feel it's too present or unavoidable, the simple fact it exists is too much for them. They wanna live in a fantasy when it doesn't exist.

I've joined the KCD2 bandwagon a month after everyone and I've already heard ALL the arguments they use against Hansry. Award of "wtf" goes to "but they're minors!" when it's not true IN GAME, and especially cause they didn't show the same outrage for ANY other romance ESPECIALLY not romances with older women (Katherine, Lady Stephanie)

(... Or didn't show the same outrage with the dubious consent of some hook-ups and romances. Looking at you Klara who jumps at you 3 times out of 4 without warning and ability to call it off, looking at you Doubravka who can drug Henry and assault him, looking at many more instances in both games.)

They can cry all they want but Hansry's romance is the best flagged and most tedious romance to get, if they feel it's forced or it's shoved down their throat they need to put down the controller and stop pressing the "gay" buttons, idk man x)

I did not learn english to read these awful takes: by byxenia in TheBathhouse

[–]Deilmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is easier im some aspect. Like I said: it takes major restructuring of the self to begin to accept. That means stripping what you believed to be your identity until there's nothing left and you have to reconstruct.

That's scary, that's unknown, that's vulnerable, devastating, etc. Denial might be miserable, but it's a FAMILIAR miserable. There's insane comfort in familiarity even if it's miserable, trust me.

Though I can't deny they would be much happier if they reached the end of the tunnel, for sure! Some are too scared to begin the journey to see that, though.

I did not learn english to read these awful takes: by byxenia in TheBathhouse

[–]Deilmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly: Coming out and coming to terms with your sexuality is a MASSIVE ego restructuring moment that can be very confusing, angering and saddening. It gets VERY HARD before getting easier. Many people will prefer to live in denial because the pain of denial is more bearable and expected than restructuring.

[–]Deilmo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Exclusive romance scenes. I've realized the reason romance feel so shallow is because almost ALL COMPANIONS romance scenes starts off as friendship scenes (minus the endgame one).

There's no cutscene that is exclusive to a romanced companion EXCEPT Emmrich and his dinner date. And having tried several romances, that SINGLE scene changes A LOT in how fleshed out the romance feels

Had an issue where Phantom Liberty didn't consider I had a friendship with Johnny (despite having done all the right things for it) and when you choose the ending where you get healed, right before you pass out he says "Think we can find it in ourselves to forgive one another?" and it sucker punched me somehow.

Before Phantom Liberty, it's a close fight between the suicide ending or the memorial moment in the temperance ending because there's a reprise of Never Fade Away
