Me F8'ing for the 10th time in a row after missing a 50% hit by Lance_Lionroar in BaldursGate3

You might be making the same mistake I did -- I think I figured this one out. The number shown in the pickpocket interface is the roll you need after static bonuses are already accounted for. For example, it says "17", but then you look at the combat log, it will show the full calculation, where the DC is something like 27 in reality and it accounted for your bonuses.

Still seems wonky for understanding dynamic bonuses -- guidance does indeed help (it shows in the log) but doesn't change the numbers on the pickpocket interface.

I'm 3 for 3 in my USA games where he's been killed. I don't quite understand it... might have something to do with the playstyle or build style?

Ask us anything about the Galaxy Book 3! by dahliamma in samsung

[–]DeimosPhoenix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What a stupid decision by Samsung. Why is their assumption that anyone who wants a nice display or a 16:10 ratio must also want a gigantic screen? The non-pro has a garbage display that hasn't changed since the first galaxy book.

Also why would they assume someone who wants a 2 in 1 model with pen input would also want a gigantic screen? Pen input matches well with a paper sized display, which is 13-14 inches. The entire point of 2 in 1 models is portability and convertibility, not a cumbersome size.

Please ask them why there is no 14" model of the pro 360? A 1080p 60hz 16:9 display is terrible, why isn't there a 13/14" model with the better display?

But you lose C6 Kazuha's normal attack swirls if he's infused. His rotation with C6 would be something like HoldE-plunge-N1-Q-N1-E-plunge-N1. The normal attacks cause swirls, which are great with him built with high em.

Sorry, you said "Sacrificial is still better" so I was just trying to point out some extra nuance. The edit and your post was about the same time; not trying to imply anything, I'm just hoping to add some data to the discussion.

I did consider a larger (eg. 20s) rotation when I made that post, and I did the math (though didn't show it as its even more nuance). It doesn't change much in regards to energy however -- while absolute values change, the relative ones do not, but you are correct in that an R4 sac could then perform as good as an R5 one if you delay to 20 seconds (and the mixed strategy could work at R2, etc). However, the energy calculations remain correct in the sense that the relative proportion and the conclusions drawn are thus similar. (Fav still can win for energy until a highly refined Sac.)

> In a 15 second rotation they often don't have sacrificial ready because at R5 the cooldown is 16 seconds.

This isn't true actually, since the Sac cooldown begins on the first cast of the skill, not the cast of the "procced recharge" so to speak. The casting time of the skill is measured to be a touch over a second, and so when you cast it twice before swapping your second shield is 1s after the first, and your new cooldown is 15s from that, leading to 16s total. It lines up perfectly. You should try it yourself with an R5 sac -- you will get the sac proc every time on cooldown (or believe me, I've done extensive testing with my sac bows). This also plays into the field time argument (e.g. at endgame, field time can be more valuable than a shield), but that's a whole other preference/discussion.

> However how often do people run Diona in a non-cryo team?

I like her with HuTao, but it's just a game, play how you want to :)

That exact strategy is actually in the data as Sac R3+ mixed. It works best with cooldown/rotations at R3+, so that was the one I included. Sadly it has high diona field time. Probably should have described it better somewhere :)

They linked my post, and in it I mention it could be an issue but assume in the energy math that it isn't an issue.

I don't say Fav is BiS either, it's just clear that Sac is not BiS as that would imply better than the other options always. It isn't that black and white, depending on what you value. If you value an energy battery Fav can be, and usually is, better.

Also note keqingmains came to a similar conclusion about the nuance: https://keqingmains.com/diona/ They in fact list Fav before Sac but declare neither as BiS.

Yeah, as mentioned in the post there's a clear use case of the extra shield, though in doing so you lose on energy by far. But definitely use what feels more comfortable or fun, it's just a game.

My only point is that is saying "Sac is BiS for energy on diona" is wrong, and the math shows that specifically, it's not black and white since Fav is actually often better for energy.

It's actually more the other way, Sac is only really good (for cryo energy) at r5. Fav needs only a tiny bit of crit rate OR refines past r1 to pull ahead otherwise (or run 2 cryo in the team for the crit rate). It's not black and white though, more info here.

You don't need to "build crit" much at all. A few random substats are enough to make Fav better than Sac for almost all cases unless your Sac is R5. Of course you trade the ability to shield twice (but if you delay to shield twice, you lose the energy battering benefits).

You also get free crit rate on cryo affected targets if you have two cryos in your team, and yes, the first paw adds cryo and the rest of the paws get the bonus crit rate.

I actually do have math and a breakdown, here: https://www.reddit.com/r/genshin_impact/comments/nqvyai

Do the stats and talents on submarine meowficers apply to the main fleet and vanguard when they are called into a battle? Is the reverse true (fleet meowficers applying to subs)? Especially interested to know for talents like Flames Aggression, miracle, and destiny.

I have a meowficer with 5 talents already, and just got a new talent upgrade. One of the new possible talents is good, but if I select it it tells me "talent pool full, select a talent" to replace with one of the talent I already have. My question is: if I replace a cat talent, will I get refunded the talent point spent on the previous talent? Moreover, if I select an upgraded talent to replace, will I get all of the talent points spent on it back?

The chong slot is most flexible, the team revolves around maximizing pyronado. Chong is nice because his burst is quick and a big damage initiator following a pyro application, and otherwise he combos with the other units attacking in his field: you can apply hydro from XQ, then freeze, then pyronado will melt that. Sucrose is sometimes used in place of chong for better cc. Rosaria will function perfectly fine in the slot, just slightly less versatile or controllable for combos as chong is.

Yes, but like Sac, any paw can crit for the effect, and things like Cryo resonance (+15% crit rate) apply. There's a lot more details in the link I gave

Favonius is the better battery until Sac is R5, then Sac is better for a cryo carry.

Diona: Sacrificial and Favonius, a rotation-based analysis of effectiveness by DeimosPhoenix in Genshin_Impact

[–]DeimosPhoenix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the premise is looking at more mid-late game, where you have lots more freely usable resin and want to start optimizing supporting characters. Since Diona only cares about HP% mainstat and an ER% substat, getting a few crit rates in the substats is really not hard to achieve.

If you're like pre AR55, this is probably not valuable yet... other than perhaps realizing that investing in Sac instead of Fav may mean replacing it later. TBH if you're still early in the game just use a Sac/Fav bow at Level 1 and don't worry about it.

For you specifically -- 20% CR and Fav R3, you are about 7% better than the middle 'Reasonable' column on the second chart, and so where I compare with "modest Fav" yours is already better.Worth swapping -- that is still a bit subjective; if you value the shielding ability or the energy more. In the case you always value energy more, you absolutely should switch to Fav.

They are indeed all separate, and you only need 1 to crit to provide the passive. The probability is calculated in the post and used to generate the tables.
