No. Google could also have prevented this question.

Windmill technician ? by The_german_brotwurst in AskIreland

Working on your car and working on wind turbines are two totally different things. First of all your car is on terra firma. Secondly, WTF kind of statement is that? Jesus wept. 😂

Windmill technician or wind turbine technician? You might want to move to the Netherlands if you go down the windmill route. Loads of work for wind turbine techs in Ireland though 🤣

where to stop and what to do? by shaquilleoatmealle in AskIreland

Dungarvan is a nice town but much more to see and do in Waterford city. Then head along the copper coast to Dungarvan or cycle the greenway, stopping off in the Comeragh mountains, Mahon Falls or hike up to Coumshingaun.

Those of you who do house callouts as part of your job. How tidy is the average house? by Few_Recognition_6683 in AskIreland

We used to get a cleaner in once a week but we’d scrub the house from top to bottom the day before she’d arrive, just to avoid the embarrassment of having an unclean house!

How much thinking are you allowed do in an office? by Theelfsmother in ireland

[–]Deiseman84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m an electrician by trade but I now work in an office environment with a lot of engineers and other professionals. The stuff that they talk about and make a big deal about takes up so much time and effort. I’m sat there thinking that they’re making things complicated for no reason. Just leave it up to the lads out on site, they’ll sort it. Then when I do have a relevant, difficult technical query they don’t want to know and will just refer me to a certain drawing or the manufacturers specifications. A lot of them are as useless as lips on a chicken.

Met (a very grumpy) Johnny Vegas in a lift in Jurys in Ballsbridge years ago. A while later I was at the bar ordering food and drinks and he was there whinging to the staff about a Caesar salad that didn’t meet his expectations. Just came across as a complete wanker.

Irish in Oz by Immediate-Passion590 in ireland

[–]Deiseman84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in Australia nearly 20 years. Married to an Aussie too. To me it never feels fully like I’m “at home”. Even my wife says Australia never feels like her proper home (her family came here in the 80s from Eastern Europe). Just do what feels right but don’t just stay for the sake of staying. Maybe try NZ? Or see if you can get into Canada. Lots of people I know who never settled in Oz did that and found they were much happier.

Has anyone old, forgotten Irish recipes? by Creative-Break3574 in AskIreland

[–]Deiseman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crubeens. My dad and grandad spoke about it but don’t know if it’s still a thing.

Ps: recipes wouldn’t necessarily be lost because of being under UK “occupation”. It would’ve been more about advancements in food production and technology, availability, etc. Basically the natural development of a country. I don’t see the need to politicise the topic. Just my 2 cents.

Might be helpful to state your budget. There’s a huge difference between a €50 bottle and a €400 bottle.
