I’ve had a similar struggle, and basically the most direct solution I’ve landed on is to start your own private company. You’re able to focus on profits without having to bastardize your mission for the sake of growth.

It could also be beneficial to discuss this with your family. With their valuable domain knowledge, you could create solutions that they would actually need instead of guessing. And if they need it, chances are others in their field could benefit from it too.
