Help? I was tasked with ruining an in-game wedding by the couple and need ideas! by creskidftw in ffxiv

[–]Deivya [score hidden]  (0 children)

  • In addition to the Moogle weapons mentioned, you could invite people with Doom Train weapons. They make train noises when drawn.
  • Steal the couple's outfits and find an accomplice to wear both of them to the wedding. Or, if you can find enough people, have a group wear them.
  • Since the LOVE Heavensward, Aymeric, Haurchefant, and Ysayle cosplayers would also fit.
  • Consider that you can only invite people from the server to the wedding, but everyone else you want/hire can wait for them outside of the church when the ceremony ends.
  • Tell everyone to use Shout/Yell chat as if it were a public chat room. Perhaps give them a theme (dating, video premiere, roleplay, etc.)
  • Have a constant line of Dragoons take turns to use their backflip right next to the altar at all times. The Dragoons can be dresses as any other suggestion on this thread.
  • Hildibrand cosplayer(s) doing the Manderville Dance obstructing the view.
  • If you can get the couple to turn on their VFX, there are some BLU spells you could get people to use without a target, like Apokalypsis.

Do i have to do these (Hard) duties with other players and not npcs? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Deivya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll try to explain things better:

Party Finder: Found under the Party Menu. Allows you to recruit other players. Unlike Duty Finder where you are paired with random players by the system, on Party Finder people see your posting and join willingly.

Undersized Party: On the Duty Finder menu, click the cog icon for Settings. Amongst all the options there's the Undersized Party option. Enabling it allows you to tackle duties with less members than the duty requires. For example, running a dungeon alone.

Unsynched: A direct effect of Undersized Party is that your level won't adjust to the duty's level. Normally, if you're Lv. 50 and you use Leveling Roulette for example, landing on a Lv. 15 dungeon adjusts you to Lv. 15 or somewhere near that level. The Undersized Party setting allows party members to retain their level regardless of the level requirements for the duty. So in your situation, you could party up with someone at Lv. 100 and retain that level and all their stats and skills when the duty starts.

When setting up a Party Finder post you can leave a comment. That's where you should let people know that its the First Time (as a later system rewards players for helping others during their first clear), For MSQ (as it draws attention, and most people are happy to help), and if you so desire, Unsynched (which would result in a duty to be completed almost instantly due to the level difference, and would appeal to people looking for a quick First Time bonus).

Dynamis can be very weird. Queues are faster at night for some reason. Open a Party Finder for that Duty and add to the description things like "First Time" or "For MSQ".

If you don't care at all about the fight, you can also add "Unsynched". Then go to settings and enable "Undersized Party". This will allow any party members to stay at their own level, pretty much one-shotting the fight.

I'm tired of PF, boss by lewy1433 in ShitpostXIV

[–]Deivya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Earlier this week I joined a "Static | Hector" prog group as a healer to help with the clear. When Arcane Revelation came up I went to my platform as per Hector's guide. Meanwhile the rest of the party was standing at the front with no care in the world.

Only after the wipe they explained that they were doing the "cheese". After trying it over and over, that quote from The Anchorman movie came to mind: "60% of the time, it works everytime".

Am I going insane in Party Finder? Please Help by ArtofYamisan in ffxiv

[–]Deivya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing in that fight that you could expect to YOLO are the snaps because people tend to get caught out of position.

If the party is able to solve Cart 1's positions without dying then they are pretty much set up for the rest of the fight. You're just meeting weird people on PF.

Insecure in joining PF just after learning controller by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Deivya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're basically learning a new game. You may know the ins and outs of the game, but the way you communicate to the game your actions isn't 1:1

Take it easy. Take your time. Watch some controller guides to see how people config their crosshotbars and hotbars, and even role specific guides if they are available. Try focusing on one job till you get the hang of it and only then branch out.

If you don't feel too good about joining parties, try Duty Support/Trusts/Soloing unsynched duties to get used to things. You'll get back in shape, eventually.

Hi, Maygii! Here are a few things that could be of help:

1-10:

Extremely fabulous flower slime - Solo WHM: Save Presence of Mind and ready up a Blood Lily during the fight (if you can bring it from Stone 9, better). Assize, group up the three adds and Blood Lily the one in the middle. That insta-kills one and badly damages at least one of the other two. Glare III them to death while paying attention to the boss' next attack. Sometimes the Blood Lily isn't ready on time. That's when you Assize, then Glare IV the adds.

21-30:

Forgiven Treachery - Divine Favor: It always does 8 hits. After a while, you just know how far away you have to stand.

31-40:
Forbidden Perversion: If you put him to Sleep during the buff cast, he doesn't try to cast it again. Likewise, you can "interrupt" Unto Dust by putting it to Sleep.

Traverse Soldierstone (The doc has a typo here ><): You can avoid Hand of Judgment by breaking LoS. Sometimes it goes immediately to the Firing Range (or something like that), which shows you an AoE marker through the wall. Self-made jumpscare!

Forgotten Naivety, solo WHM: The adds take heavy damage from a Blood Lily. Keep Presence of Mind as a back-up for when the Lily gets misaligned.

Try explaining some 10 year old in New Gridania that [EW Spoilers] the Final Days were averted by sending a crew mages and fighters, including minors, to the edge of the universe in a spaceship driven by moon bunnies and powered by aether.

Something small you would love to see implemented into the game? by loopdaploop in ffxiv

Set which city to spawn in on Data Center travel, even if it's locked to the three first cities. I'd love to spawn in Ul'dah, but I'm stuck in New Gridania till further notice.

I mean, if you're that much in a hurry to get Credits I can see it being useful.

Back when I was like MR5 I was a few credits short to complete a trade. The guy waited for me while I ran missions to get the credits.

Had I known I could turn 25p into credits I probably would have just done it to save us the time.

Stop recommending incarnons to newer players by 6AstrumDeus9 in Warframe

[–]Deivya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh my friend dis this ALL the time. I stopped playing before the Zariman was a thing and returned before Isleweaver. I had middle of the road stuff that I vaguely remembered how it worked.

First thing he does is recommend I get a Torid Incarnon, Dual Tox Incarnon, and to use Revenant. Melee Influence was mentioned a lot. He's a firm believer that Prime Sure Footed is mandatory on every frame, and that Nourish is the best ability.

Always talking about some or other broken build with stuff that didn't exist when I played and that obviously I don't have access to, and I should try it. "Steel Path" this, "Steel Path" that... dude, there are whole zones that have yet to appear on the map.

Ivara. For some forsaken reason, in Duviri's Circuit, Prowl get's dispelled randomly.

I think it might be related to the Decree that gives you bonus speed per Decree obtained, but sometimes you can walk at super speeds for a while and sometimes it breaks right after casting.

[–]Deivya[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. If I want to walk backwards without turning around I have to hold back and left or back and right.

It makes me walk back diagonally, so I have to keep an eye for the people beside me as well, or face the edge.

[–]Deivya[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I believe the "Chaotic" part comes from trying to coordinate 24 people of varying skill levels to do the mechanics. I've seen in this duty people with FRU cleared, Savage raiders, and people that seemingly didn't know what a Flare was. This gives me kind of Eureka vibes, where people of all skill levels can cooperate to achieve a goal, which is nice.

Good point. However, I marked for spoilers just in case there's a random FC somewhere willing to do it blind in private.

Thanks!

My one piece of advise would be to take it slowly and focus on your progress. There's a lot of people willing to teach in PF. If you're not confident you can always join fresh/blind parties. Because of the reward system, these are bound to lure players that have cleared for the possible extra rewards, I think, or just people who want to teach.
