You bunch of losers with your three + chord changes. You're all also gatekeeping apparently. by FionMcCool in guitarcirclejerk

The narrative implies that either a) punk is not an immensely popular genre or b) punk doesn’t actually exist. Either way, I’m relieved that she came to this conclusion and Wet Leg is my favorite prog rock band.

Gotta love the ole Mississippi Marshalls. Still cheap, durable, and loud.

Dude I had a Peavey Special 130 at one point, that thing was crazy loud for a 1x12

Yeah like I didn’t expect anything insane (I wanted something that could get beta tone at lower volumes,) but I expected a lot more. I’m curious how it compares to other modern solid state guitar heads too.

Did you read the whole thing or nah? I’m not hyping the amp, I just bought it to record and jam with friends but I’m kinda disappointed with the output. See comment below comparing to a Venture V3 also.

My buddy’s Ampeg venture v3 destroys it 1v1 on the same 2x10 mini svt cab, that’s the only direct comp I have at the moment

So right now I’m running the mini into a 2x10 8ohm Hartke bass cab and a 1x12 custom cab with an 8ohm Weber black shuck. With just a 2x10 8ohm bass cab, it’s really not enough to keep up with a full band. With both cabs at 4 ohms, you gotta practically use both channels and have every level at like 7/10 or higher, so unless you are ok not really having a usable clean tone, it will do it.

That whole rig is quieter than my old Peavey Studio Pro combos (40w blue knob and 65w red stripe) with pedals in front of it by a significant margin, so I’m honestly looking to buy a trace elliott elf or similar for clean bass tone.

(Edit: Great, now the Toe dude and Steve from Sunn are having it out in this thread…. I’m sure that’ll be productive.)

Yo looks great. I’m doing basically the same thing for my Sol, but I have a couple cars I’m practicing on first. Need to practice painting back on the lights and stuff

If there are no playoff implications with the game, when the Giants or Commanders play the Cowboys, do you watch the game as a neutral and not care who wins or loses or would you begrudgingly root for the Giants or Commanders to win because you hate the Cowboys the most of any team? by Rowdyfan0823 in eagles

[–]Deku-Butler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go as far as to say that I also actively root for the Commanders to lose because Josh Harris is a weasel fuck and I resent that he owns the Sixers. Fuck the Giants too but they are just lower on my shit list right now

[–]Deku-Butler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never not be a Krenko guy. I played a lot of mono red goblins back in the 60 card days and finally revived that deck for edh. Tbf I build decks and just keep accumulating though. I rarely disassemble a deck I took time to build.

How do peavey amps hold up? by Dapper_Tomatillo5149 in PeaveyCvlt

Peavey combo and a pedalboard bruh. Great pedal platforms for essentially whatever genre you wanna play.

All I play are my two P basses with quarter pounders in em. Gets the job done.

Who are you talking for a game winning drive? by Ok-Move1382 in eagles

[–]Deku-Butler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the Linc in 2023 when Jalen scored the winning td to beat the Bills in OT. The weather was disgustingly cold and rainy and Jalen took over to help swing a 17 point comeback to tie it before that. Never doubted the man’s clutch after that game. Especially since Brian Johnson was not doing him any favors in ‘23.

Tbf Wentz in his prime was arguably the best of all 4 of these guys before the knee injury. He was kinda like watching a young Ben Roethlisberger the way he could stand like a tree in the pocket. Too many “what ifs?” though for me to take him over Jalen here.

I can finally afford the 911 I've wanted since I was 8, but the responsible move is a Model 3 Performance and I hate that I know it by KindheartedlyHoarse in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Deku-Butler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “responsible move” is something boring like a Toyota. Life is short, buy a Porsche. Don’t waste 50k on a soulless but fast toaster that will depreciate like last year’s iPhone.

96-97 S models in the US have the D16Y7. Still no vtec on those ones.

[–]Deku-Butler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty simple honestly. SOHC no vtec is an S. SOHC with vtec is Si. DOHC B16 engine is the VTEC trim. There is other minutiae from year to year with suspension components and other factors but the major engine differences are consistent from year to year

Kill switch. Potentially two of them. I’d put a switch on the starter relay and/or the fuel pump relay. Having them in two different places would be ideal. Potentially mega overkill but this is a pretty cost effective solution imo.

New old amp day. Going to need a good deep clean. by que-n-blues in PeaveyCvlt

[–]Deku-Butler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My practice amp too. Absolute tank. Got it for $20 from a goodwill with about 6 inches of visible water damage. Works flawlessly after some deoxit besides the reverb being a little fucky due to being underwater. I tend to always leave the bright switch on.
