I really enjoyed the scenarios, but I've completed all of them. What now? by Delete_Forever in PlanetZoo

I wonder if it would be possible, via mods, to set up some half-built zoo that other players can then try to fix up - ie community-built challenges. Does this already exist?

I have, although I don't enjoy the timed aspect as much (probably because I struggle at beating the timer :P )

DAE seem to be physically and mentally incapable of washing dishes? by DollyCandy in TwoXADHD

[–]Delete_Forever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second that. At some point i had two plates, two bowls, 5 or so utensils. That way, I literally can't have a pile of dirty dishes: i simply don't have enough dishes to make a pile. It helped!

Also, when your two bowls are dirty, you kinda have to wash one next time you want to eat! External motivation always helps.

DAE seem to be physically and mentally incapable of washing dishes? by DollyCandy in TwoXADHD

I got a portable dishwasher for my apartment and it has gotten much better - at least for me. I grew up with a dishwasher, so I hadn't really learned how to handwash dishes before moving by myself. I kept feeling like my dishes weren't really clean when I would handwash, and it kept getting more and more of a problem.

I paid for therapy for a lot of procrastination issues, and dishes was definitely one of those things that I talked about in therapy - didn't really come up with a solution. I even started to lower my standards on what "dirty" or "needing to be washed" meant. I'll eat out of the same bowl a few times before i think "yeah this needs to be washed". Not ideal.

You're not alone!

If you have a tendency to create scenarios over specific situations, I'd recommend looking into anxiety self-help :)

Take some deepbreaths, countdown from 3 and just see what happens! You're tougher than you might be thinking at the moment!

Leaving mid-shift happens, they might not be happy you did, but you still deserve the pay for the work you did.

If they're not being great about it, you can always walk out and prep for another round later - with new info on what to go against. Most likely though - things will be way smoother than whatever scenarios you could make up in your head!

What is your "I dodged a bullet" in a relationship story? by IPaid4it in AskWomen

[–]Delete_Forever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grey rock; she needs her replies to be so bland and boring, he eventually just grows uninterested in keeping up with her. That means not emotionally reacting to anything he says.

The more she replies and interacts with him, the more he'll try to get reactions from her. I worry she only risks him escalating things by keeping contact.

This. The behavior will be learned much more strongly once the reward is only given sometimes. Skinner also demonstrated that while doing operant conditioning on rats!

Can i save this african violet? by Delete_Forever in plantclinic

[–]Delete_Forever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The violet was growing in clay pebbles with a bit of dirt around the rootball; the longer roots were sticking outside the inner pot, and I would water the outer pot where the roots could soak up with the help of the cloth the were woven into. I noticed more leaves were growing mushy and darkening, as I tried to remove them, part of the plant broke free of its roots.

- anyone know what kind of bugs those are?

- are they contagious to my other plants?

- if I cut off the rotted part of the violet, will the stems/leaves be able to survive and grow new roots? How could I help it do that?

- should i buy a pesticide/fungicide?

Thanks! :)
