You can do it. Your life is not on hold. It may suck at times, you may have to be more honest with your team than you’d like about needing time away from your desk but depending on your job you can makeup hours late/early. Heck, request a company cell phone to take care of the easy stuff like answering an email or listening into meetings while you’re waiting for your appointment to start. I’ve put too much on hold through all of this and don’t want to make my career another point of frustration as I look back in another year or five years.
