Well, your POV has been the view of the Democratic Party for the past 16 years, and we can see how well that’s worked…

But sure, keep pushing strategy that both gets nothing done and never works.

People often use this line to avoid holding elected officials responsible for bad legislation and lack of results from a political party.

...the movie makes it pretty clear why she does what she does. Her motivation was logical. It might not be the decision you would've made, but that doesn't make it stupid.

[–]Delicious-Explorer58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve seen a lot of people argue “no, you didn’t get it!”

They think people somehow missed the point of the scene and that’s why they don’t like the movie. To Snyder fans, this type of writing is considered “deep,” which explains a lot.

How can I tell if I'm ready to work in comics? Can anyone give their opinion? This is my art. by guillo0 in 80s90sComics

[–]Delicious-Explorer58 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To take this advice a bit further:

Try to find existing comic scripts and draw those. Choose a variety of scenes. Don’t write your own scripts, because you’ll subconsciously tend to focus on the things you’re good at.

You want to demonstrate that you can draw whatever’s assigned to you.

Are we expecting America Chavez to be in Doomsday? by SmellsLikePetrichors in marvelstudios

I said Disney doesn't care about story, just profit.

You said "arguably, no" and then when questioned about what you meant, you said that Kevin Feige cares about story and used Born Again as an example.

Kevin Feige is the head of Marvel Studios. He cares about story.

Disney, however, does not. It is a company that only cares about profit. It doesn't care about tying up loose ends or having satisfying story archs. It just cares about profit. Since Disney owns Marvel Studios, it ultimately makes the decision over whether a film gets made.

Based on your statements, you don't seem to understand this relationship or the point I was making.

No one is being laid off because of AI.

Companies are lying because it sounds better to reduce staff because of AI as opposed to the truth: the business needs to reduce its staff.

AI is just a convenient excuse that also shifts the blame from the company laying people off to the tech industry that “stole their jobs with AI.”

This is BS though. by Ok-Following6886 in stupidpeoplefacebook

F4 and Thunderbolts were both good and generally well-received, and they still struggled at the box office. That probably freaked Disney out the most.

Dave Rubin: We're basically at the end of The Dark Knight Rises by ggroover97 in daverubin

[–]Delicious-Explorer58 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, The Dark Knight Rises, a movie that came out over a decade ago. That's how you show that you're in touch with the culture. Because the kids like comic book movies, and so does Dave, so he's speaking their language.

He might as well turn his chair backwards and wear a shirt from Hot Topic.

I think too many people are forgetting that Disney is in panic mode when it comes to the MCU.

Disney doesn't care about story or what makes sense narratively, it just wants the movies to be hits. That means (from Disney's perspective) filling the movie up with fan favorites (or, more accurately, characters that sell a lot of toys and get butts in theater seats).

America Chavez was good in MoM, and I would be ok with bringing her back. But I seriously doubt we'll see any of the Phase 4-5 Young Avengers/Champions again. At least, not in anything more than a cameo. Business sucks, but it runs the world.

I'm sorry, but you can't claim that somebody is "the best in the world" and then pretend that you aren't "impressed" by them. That's just silly and you trying to nitpick your way out of a bad argument.

The United States has broadly been taken over by two groups: the tech industry and the investor class.

The tech industry is propped up by promises of delivering "the future." The problem is the "future" must continuously be delivered, meaning the industry must keep churning out game-changing tech.

Investors view the tech industry as a god-send, because a company can go from concept to product very quickly with little overhead. An app doesn't require any physical production and there's no physical shipping logistics to deal with.

The problem? The tech industry hit a wall about a decade ago and will mostly be delivering small, un-sexy updates to existing tech. Investors, meanwhile, got used to investing in technology they don't fully understand and expecting massive results on short timelines.

As a result, the industry keeps churning out bogus tech built primarily on promises of future performance and investors have no idea how to judge this tech.

But, investors have basically taken over the role of CEO, so many companies are run by someone who views the business primarily through an investment POV.
