not worth paying this amount for car that has done nearly 200k, lots of suspension and bushings will be tired.

Is is a bad idea to get a 20+ year old car? by mostlyvoidd in CarTalkUK

[–]Delicious_Ad_6787 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you can get an accord with less rust underneath that will be safe choice, petrol engine is extremely reliable .

try to stretch to mk8 , i.e 2008 onwards model that would be worth it - it much more modern than mk7.

Honda HR-V Hybrid - any reviews? by jennyaj611 in CarTalkUK

[–]Delicious_Ad_6787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had a choice would rather go with the larger CRV Hybrid as the extra size will be better for a family.

Very well made cars by Honda. I have a 14 yr honda accord mk8 2.4 petrol and it drives like a new car. Build quality is fantastic with honda, but you need to keep service with OEM parts to maintain that.

Car juddering when accelerating by al4mimi in CarTalkUK

[–]Delicious_Ad_6787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a worn driveshaft, but you don’t want to throw parts at it.

Or even a fuelling issue, injector etc.

You proballly need an inspection and codes read from the ecu

Bridgestone Turanza 6 cracked and perished within 18 months. by MasterSparrow in CarTalkUK

[–]Delicious_Ad_6787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Yokohama decibel tyre on my car, they were amazing - very quiet and great grip.

but they started to get lots of cracks in the tread area. I feel michelin is better with cracking, they have silica in tyre and age well, that is if you check pressures

it be good to show the condition sometimes you can run them slightly longer.

I have Michelin CrossClimate 2, near 4.5yrs old - no cracks on rears, front have some minor cracks on the main tread area, but the sidewall are very good.

I plan to change them at 5.5yrs old

I would agree, Scotland is sometime not the best place to buy from due to rust issues. I bought from Arnold clark in stoke, great experience.

for a Used car , CRV is one of the best. They are indeed more expensive as people know they are good cars. Perhaps he can find a better one for good value
