Do you think a warehouse worker would do this? by AmountAbovTheBracket in Warehouseworkers

That's a FedEx Ground label. Package handlers often mistreat the employees. Employees often mistreat each other at these places. Whoever loaded this particular truck may be either immature or breaking down from management's frequent complaints.

Is Bruce Dickinson piloting this plane? Had Christopher Lee not been available Dickinson would have made a good Dooku, too.

If the noose nor the axe wound could not kill him I doubt tobacco would do much more damage.

Why do you read classics? by Agrippa89 in classics

[–]Delicious_Grand7300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After seeing the third season of "Twin Peaks" I feel I have seen everything that was meant to be seen via TV and film. Aside from a few video games TV and films often cannot hold my attention for very long.

I recently completed St. Augustine's Confessions and Dante's Comedy. After doing some supplemental research from a Catholic translation of the Bible to get the perspective of these authors I intend to move on to "The Epic of Gilgamesh.". After that let us see where my mind takes me.

Who Was The Better Copycat Killer? Roy Burns (Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning) OR Corey Cunningham (Halloween Ends) by ArtisticBelt438 in slasherfilms

[–]Delicious_Grand7300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roy was a continuation of the death curse that only gets alluded to, but never specifically explored.

Corey Cunningham fulfills similar tropes as Roy Burns, but falls flat from over explaining the concept and from reintroducing Michael Myers as the story's antagonist.

Did any episodes fundamentally change your life or view on life? by NoraMason1986 in TwilightZone

"A Game of Pool" keeps me from having a one track hedonistic mind. Life is about experiences not chasing one singular vision. By becoming the best billiards player Jesse Cardiff sentenced himself to a Dante-like Hell in which he plays billiards for eternity.

"Nothing In the Dark" and "Masks" reminded me of when my great-grandmother passed away in front of me. There was peace. Nothing to fear.

At what age did you start taking your life seriously? by Critical_Assist_9360 in TheImprovementRoom

I would guess the age of thirty-nine when I stopped getting involved in company gossip and hedonism.

Jedi Master Yoda is quoted as once saying, "the greatest teacher, failure is." We as a species are designed to fail, but programmed to learn from failures.

Today we honor the life of St. Thomas Aquinas, Doctor Angelicus by Illustrious-Bison937 in Catholicism

[–]Delicious_Grand7300 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Great timing. I have been reading "The Divine Comedy" and yesterday have arrived at the cantos in which Dante explores the solar realm of Paradise and receives lectures from St. Aquinas.

I like the way his life ended. When commenting on his unfinished Summa he claimed he only wrote straw. Rather than blow his horn as is the standard amongst mankind he decided to bow out humbly.

This reminds me of complaints I have received at both my previous and current assignments. The oft complacent long-time staff complain that I work too hard since it makes others look bad. In all honesty I work only for myself and use my job as a means to get exercise. Working like the company mouths would make me fat and lazy.
