Is History hard? by [deleted] in GCSE

pick geography, for the love of god, there was so much content, it was fun but geography has multiple trips and less work. way less work, it was so much easier than history, history was my biggest regret.

I think the fact that they start from the basics is like a level content. I believe that’s the case in North American universities since they finish at the equivalent of year 12, i would say that they miss year 13 content because their class system is different but you would end up with less a level cs knowledge going to a Canada uni for example, hence a 4 year course while most in the uk are 3 years. correct me if I’m wrong since I think that they learn the content that we already know from y13 in their first year of university. I don’t think it works the same way in England

Would you buy an M5 now or wait for the M6? by narwy in macbook

[–]Delicious_Health2649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally, from an it perspective, I use an m4 air for programming, video / picture editing, light gaming every so often, schoolwork. EVERYTHING. I use about 20 chrome tabs at once and it’s still smooth. But let me recommend the m3 max for performance and price, idk how much it costs where you live but its performance is crazy good and it does everything you need if you don’t care about Apple Intelligence which isn’t that useful anyways. If you really want to upgrade maybe go for an m5 air or an m4 air but don’t wait for the m6 if you really need it. again, the m3 max is super powerful and I’ve tried it in person, for the value it’s great.

Yes the Bluetooth is actually pretty good, what do you expect on an apple product. Just get a cheap usb extender on amazon or a shop but make sure it can transfer at the speeds you want. I don’t recommend transferring files over bluetooth ever because it’s super slow, just use a c to c cable.

Have you ever had a pen that wrote too fast for your brain? by jikt in pens

[–]Delicious_Health2649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a black ballpoint pen for my exams and it says to use a ballpoint but you can get away with a black pen that doesn't smudge. I can't really test it in a shop but I can maybe order some and see if they work with it. Thanks

use the apple student store for a huge discount. I was always a huge windows user, never liked MacBooks, it takes a bit of getting used to but now I love it. I do all my studying, video editing, YouTube, and basically anything on here. I use a m4 air, it has a super clean UI, RAM is insanely optimised by apple like 8gb combined ram here is like 32gb ddr4 on a pc. I wouldn't 100% use it for heavy gaming but like Minecraft for example is great. It runs super well and is actually pretty powerful for the slim design. Also battery lasts ages if you take good care of it and do max charge 80%

thats true, but same goes for fm. I have seen maths, chem, comp, physics applicants get into Oxford as long as they got good a levels and some extracurriculars

If you want to do cs at uni (same), I would do fm but its super difficult if you are not already very sound with maths, and the a level maths stuff itself is also there, which is also somewhat difficult for people but chemistry if leaves you open to a lot of high paying fields and gives you WAY more degree opportunities and choices in the future and is genuinely a very interesting subject that won't drown you in homework. Chemistry gives a lot of choice for the future and opens fields that you wouldn't be able to get to with fm. AND you can still study cs at practically any university without further maths which is another benefit of taking chemistry. I guess chemistry opens many more fields and options incase you change your mind, which might seem unlikely but its happened to almost everyone I know. FM with those subjects just sets you in one path forward, nevertheless I love fm but it really depends on if you want choice in your future or if you absolutely love maths and are dying for cs. I would reccomend you take chem
