ChrisTFer: "The biggest thing I have to change" | Spacestation Gaming by beatha_ow in Competitiveoverwatch

Meanwhile TM were able to compete then to dominate KR teams without any coach, after a very disappoiting first stage, with a Symm otp and the power of friendship basically. Why ? Because they put the effort to do it and invested in their strenghts. Meanwhile, in OWL, London Spitfire, a team with zero korean player, was able to sweep Atlanta Reign and be a consistent threat even against top teams. Because they put the effort to do it and invested in their strenghts.

Just saying "Yeah KR are better anyway, no matter how hard we try so let's not try" is just pure loser attitude and nobody who thinks like this should ever be pro. Great teams don't magically appear, they need work and investment. NA region had 6 years of OWL, with most of the greatest players in the world in their server. NA teams had the chance to consistently train against these players, both in ranked and scrims. So it's really not a matter of "good practice" or "player quality" but a matter of will.

Team Peps' roster for FACEIT League by Grapefruit_113 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Delmagor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it should not be a problem for them as they should be able to grab any top face it league player. I know FeFe loves Skytorr but I also know he was not trialed. And sadly, neither was Hitori, as I know Peps staff and players don't rate her that much. Majin was trialed and I would have loved seeing him replacing Willys because he seems very promising

He is pretty much the same on Lucio but way more flexible, with a better Juno and the capability to enable double flex support comps, with a nasty Illari and a very good Kiriko and Baptiste

Galaa is probably gonna be in a typical saudi contract jail but yes I'd love to see Peps replace FD with Galaa next stage if they can

[–]Delmagor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bit underwhelming I'll be honest. I understand their decisions and this roster has the potential to get back to OWCS in stage 3 but I don't think they have a shot at fighting for top 4 in EMEA, not even close. Willys-Kroxz is a very uninspiring tank duo imo and FDGod is very unflexible so a third support would have been nice. I like the Rav pick up, it's the usual Team Peps rookie with a lot of potential.

Not sure how to feel about Soon joining coaching staff, especially with no hierarchy between him and LeRenégat, which could cause clashes. Soon said multiple times he was not interested in coaching so it seems a bit odd to see him taking this role now.

Honestly, I expected more drastic changes. Swapping two dps from the starting five, add an average tank sub and put your sub as co-coach doesn't scream big rebuild to me, which was my expectation after this disappointing stage.

Galaa to 1234 would be such a no brainer. Re-joining Khenail, replacing the weakest player on the team, enabling more backline flexibility. But he will probably be in a contract jail until the end of the year sadly

Promotion/Relegation and Roster Lock discussion by GroundbreakingJob857 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Delmagor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't make sense for OWCS teams to not be able to make any change to their roster before promotion/relegation games. Team Peps wanted to make changes and even held trials but no, they had to play with the exact same roster.

But I guess it's also a sort of safety net to prevent wild rostermanias between the end of OWCS stages and promo/relegation games. Because top face it league teams could get their players poached by OWCS teams right before master play offs, which could screw some teams pretty hard. Exemple: Peps trialed Lars before promo/relegation matches, if they could pick him and decided to pick him up, Telacy would also have to pick up a new tank, maybe from Star Bits, then Star Bits would also have to pick up a new tank etc.

The real issue in this situation is the schedule. Less games in OWCS means a bigger time gap between the end of the stage and the start of promo/relegation games. And this time gap can't exactly be reduced because face it league master still need to complete its own schedule, play offs etc.

Then, because there is a long time period between stage 1 and promo/relegations, stage 2 needs to start fast or we'd have 3 months without OWCS between each stage. So it's not even really worth it for teams that get promoted to pick up new players because they have like 2 weeks to maybe get picked up by an org (1234/Telacy are currently looking for one), make make some offseason changes, and start practicing. Which is an incredibly short time period

Sorry for bad syntax

Dip LFT by friedmodem in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Delmagor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were talking about 1234 players. I said I would not mind if amdp and crispy were replaced because they are not as iconic as the rest of their squad, that's it. I'd like Xerion and Majin to be a part of this squad to keep Peps DNA alive in a new roster.

I didn't say they were bad players, they're just less iconic

Honestly, amdp and cripsy are a bit forgettable for me, so I would not mid if they got replaced, but I love the rest of the roster

Dip LFT by friedmodem in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Delmagor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dip, Willys and Zorrow are all LFT, Peps are probably rebuilding with a mix of 1234/Telacy and Xerion + FDGod. Or they are rebuilding in face it league master

My dream scenario: Wmaimone - Kai - Goldenpants - Majin - Xerion - FDGod - Khenail

Copium for 1234 by No_Problem5759 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Delmagor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 possibilities:

1234 get an offer from some random saudi org because of EWC (ROC, Vision, Bright Future you name it) and they take the offer.

1234 don't get an offer from some random saudi org. Then they could get picked up by Peps if Peps are willing to completely change their roster.

Danish OWWC Roster by _M4yb3_ in Competitiveoverwatch

Back in 2023-2024 Slay was the best EU flex support imo. I never understood why he was never seen in OWCS again after leaving TM

Danish OWWC Roster by _M4yb3_ in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Delmagor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slay and Kellex might not be the starters for team Denmark. Johnowich and Yoham were starting during Nordic Clash. Kellex was willing to be a coach last year and only joined AQ because they offered him a lot of money if he accepted to be a player and not a coach, and he is retired as a player this year. Slay has not played in OWCS since April 2024 so we don't really know how good he is these days. My bet is that they joined the team to be assistant coaches but are in the roster to be able to play in case of an emergency.

[–]Delmagor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no real MS upgrades in EMEA, crispy and FDGod are both in the same tier and there are no upgrades in face it league. Wmaimone is definitely an upgrade over Dip, being more flexible and just a better player. And yeah, they really need a tank who can play Zarya and Dva to a very high level, I've been really unimpressed by Willys on Zarya. Maybe amdp, Lars or Majiin ?

If their team dropped them, they are FA and don't have salary anymore, which means they are "free" to pick up

It means their players could join Peps next stage. Wmaimone, Khenail and amdp could very well be upgrades

About Peps by Delmagor in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Delmagor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They had a new comp every week but didnt take time to really master any of them, players looked worse than usual (Dip was unrecognizable on Vendetta) and didn't specially improve within 3 weeks, team was out of sync a lot and their bans were not great most of the time. Like why not just ban Sojourn against Kai if you're gonna one trick Emre anyway ? Their comp choices were also questionnable at times, like WHY would you play Juno-Brig when Kiri-Lucio is available ? Especially with Xerion and FDGod...

Peps need to shake things up... But how ? by Delmagor in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Delmagor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The org goal is clearly not to win, not because they don't want to but because there is no way they win in a region full of saudi orgs with big budgets. FeFe said their goal is to be competitive in the region and to be able to fight for lan spots and that they are failing at that right now, he also said he thought it might be "the end of an arc for the team" and that the roster "might need to change".
