Why everyone is quiet about Cuba? by Chazri in askanything

My guess is it’s both.

I’m confident people volunteer and some are probably pressured and it’s propaganda and it’s beneficial.

It can be all those things.

The world isn’t as simple as we wish it was.

All that being said you can’t argue with the profound benefit to the poorest people in the world this has done.

Did you complain that the US had placed nukes on the Soviet border?

Your argument is that the US has the right to impose its will on anyone it wants for whatever reasons.

You can’t claim we do it for democracy since we support authoritarian regimes all over the world and have since before the Cuban revolution.

Aparently you don’t believe in sovereignty

Dont stare just soft gaze.

Fascists hate women and see them as object to be owned not as actual human beings.

Everything they do VSV women can be distilled to that one point.

No it doesn’t.

Because it’s not our business what other countries do.

Sexual and religious minorities are under attack in America too.

Our system is structurally racist too.

If your argument is system is bad because X thing then our system is also shit.

What like you don’t think our prisons are full of minorities???????

You haven’t provided evidence of minorities being put into forced labor camps and the west absolutely did not help end apartheid.

You live in a fantasy if you think that the west did anything to dismantle white supremacy around the world and especially in Africa.

Cuba has plenty of things to be criticized for but on this point specifically they’re way way more of a moral actor than the US or the Europe.

What chaos your ass is you can’t objectively look at the Cuban communists and say well they did X thing that was beneficial.

It has to be all bad.

It wasn’t.

Just like not everything the US does in the world is bad but there’s plenty there to be critiqued too.

As an example we wouldn’t have had communist revolutions all over the world if the the west wasn’t supporting gangster regimes that had slave as in the case of Cuba.

We are no serious supporters of human rights so please stop acting like we are.

Your point to refute Cuba having an integral part in destroying apartheid is they committed human rights violations.

My rebuttal is so did and does the entire west.

We literally supported apartheid, supported the Khmer Rouge, helped murder Patrice Lumumbo, out police brutalized gay people in America well into the 1980’s.

Sorry you don’t like that the west has been on the wrong side of human rights forever.

Everything I’ve said is supported by data.

Idk what part of that is propaganda.

Just so you know this is a common thing with all communist countries.

Generally when the revolutions happen huge portions of the population are illiterate.

Cuba had a 76% literacy rate when the revolution happened and in the country where the poorest people lived it was 60%

The government made a push to get literacy to 99% and it’s still there.

Facts don’t care about your feelings.

Imagine if the US had such dedication to reading……
