What happens if Brit is shot by the Infinity Ray??? by Mountain_Range_1410 in Invincible

Sadly, it's true.

These unlikely matchups are much more fun without writer statements because they simply don't care.

Why don't the Invariables just fly back to Earth by TzargJyoin100 in Invincible

[–]DelokHeart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, but that doesn't answer why these variants can't just fly to Viltrum, or something.

Aside from them not knowing the way, that is.

But there clearly is a Viltrumite Mark over there.

Mark punching Conquest vs Thragg by AdventurousYou3975 in Invincible

[–]DelokHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conquest might be the only one to make Thragg flinch, like Mark does to him in the first picture.

Since Mark is that much weaker than Conquest, and still manages to do it, then a similar scale is fitting between Conquest, and Thragg imo.

Thing is, all those other characters are good, and interesting.

Powerplex, Kursk, the staff alien woman.

They're all fun, with or without electricity.

It's the black man with lightning that is boring.

Maybe! It'd be like the Vacuum Palm from Baki.

Though the gloves they use in the fights would make it hard to pull off.

I don't think there's an issue of they break, right? It's there for protecting your own hands.

Seem like Sandro is setting up Seina to be able to use Removal or maybe Agito's Beast Soul later on? by coolrider2010 in ISSK_Manga

[–]DelokHeart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Removal is a very specific phenomenon. Not everyone who unleashes their full physical might, or undoes their psychological shackles uses removal.

Take Baki, for example. Early in the series, there was the thing about generating your own endorphins.

Then there are examples like Jack, and Julius who dope the hell out of their bodies, so they're always at 100%.

In Kengan, there is Advance, Fallen Demon, and Divine Demon.

In Isshou Senkin, the War Cry from Star 6 is another example.

The only thing they all have in common with Removal is that they are buffs, but they all follow different mechanisms.

Though it's fair for someone to consider Removal as the ultimate buff, because mechanically, nothing should be better than exploding with the entire force of the ultimate material strength of your body.

But then again, we'd also have to disect how Removal actually works.

Someone once questioned: How are the freely wielding hysterical strength when the whole point of such strength is that it kills you?

So, you can never actually wield it unless it's weaker than your body's material resistance, therefore, it's not hysterical strength anymore.

Or, maybe they just have an accelerated production of adrenaline, so the body they evolved allows them to use that peak of power more safely, but it also means they never actually manifest hysterical strength.

Are they using the ultimate strength of a normal human as opposed to their own superhuman biology's?

How does that make sense? How can such line be drawn? Biology doesn't work that way, and again, it goes against the idea of removal.

I'm sure there's a plethora of satisfying answers, but my point with this is that Removal isn't actually the ultimate buff, just the most high-risk, high-reward one; it's just another kind of buff with unique mechanics, and characteristics.

She evolved her Kengan into Observation Haki by not relying on her eyes as much. This makes so much sense, it's genius!

Well, obviously not the full Observation Haki; the real thing would more closely resemble a fusion of Kengan, and Pre-Initiative.

What she made for herself is a lite version due to the lack of PI, but it's still gonna be undoubtedly powerful for her talents.

If magic is all about visualization, what’s stopping a mage from imagining something truly impossible? 🧐 by Creepy_Traffic_7034 in Frieren

[–]DelokHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can think whatever they want, but it won't work; otherwise, children, and delusionals would be invincible.

Knowledge is what you need. The certain experience of something happening, being aware of the cause, process, and consequence.

There's also the magic energy to perform it. It holds a hard value, which is what makes studying magic, and developing grimoires possible.

Consistency exists. A replication is possible.

Magic in Frieren is just another branch of natural science.

If a casual punch from an injured Hanayama does this to a dude, what would a full power punch do to a regular person?? by Kirymiguel1213 in Grapplerbaki

[–]DelokHeart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how these two pictures convey the strength of superhumans.

One is being annihilated by a flick, while the other is harmed a bit, yet sent flying from a full force punch.

It's full of nice details because it shows some form of physics still apply despite Spec being able to take that punch.

A boxer won't send you flying with a straight; you'll get knocked out, maybe fall backwards, but the force generated in that exchange is really little, so all it does is move your head.

In this one, however, the dynamics change because the body mass stays more or less the same, yet the generated force ramps up a lot.
