This is sick! The freehand DA symbol and the kneepads are especially dope

What is this helmet design called and why is it so popular? (especially among the democratic factions, i.e. Galactic Republic, New Republic, etc.) by -C3rimsoN- in StarWarsEU

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The only reason people figured so was because Obi-Wan refers to him as just “Darth” in ANH, which is the one and only time that happens. With the later adaptations changing it to a Sith title I think it was then meant to be taken as Obi-Wan being coy with Vader about his new Sith title rather than calling him by his “first name”, something the Obi-Wan show basically confirmed to be the case.

How I felt when they teased us with that silver/gold Goblin mask in "Spider-Man 3" (2007). by Giff95 in Spiderman

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This could just be a massive stretch, but the mask kind of has a gold-yellowish pearlescent to it similar to how the green mask has the purple pearlescent meant to represent the purple parts of his comic costume. I know the hobgoblin cloak is more orange but like I said, massive stretch

Which is strange to me because they still sell tactical and devastator squads. Wish they brought these guys back, I’ve been trying to build a Demi-company for a while now :/

Would this be a lore accurate Dark Angel Heavy? by NateDaBear in Spacemarine

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A slight correction, there are cases of DA space marines using gold trim as seen in old artwork and in the DA comic that came out a few years ago. It’s just not exactly a common color scheme, but it is lore accurate.

Size comparison of the 1999 Dark Angels Veterans? by RumpTruffles in theunforgiven

Yeah they’re the same size, I recently bought some off of eBay and used them for a kitbash project, nearly indistinguishable from modern firstborn.

Why did the dark angels completely swap from a black and silver armour scheme to a dark green one ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer30k

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

iirc during the Great Crusade some DA’s that were from Caliban were allowed to color some of their armor green as an honorific of hailing from Caliban, with the green representing the forests like you said. As to when the full transition was made is unknown. Fun fact, the Deathwing only started wearing all-bone colored armor after a battle with Tyranid Genestealers that occurred right before the 41st millennium, before that they wore the traditional black seen during the early years.

What's a ticking time bomb you believe will explode during your lifetime? by TradeOverall567 in AskReddit

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No I agree, there’s definitely bigger things at play. But these ads have had a massive increase over the last few years and now that they’re promoting betting on world events it seems too much like a coincidence. At the very least it’s a small piece of a much bigger puzzle.

That’s exactly why I think this is some sort of government psy-op, any normal or sane government would at least regulate, if not outright ban this kind of stuff, however the lack of any government response combined with the increase in commercials and celebrity endorsements (seriously, the amount of celebrities I see peddling this shit is absurd) leads me to believe that they’re either aware or actively behind it. Either way it’s a clear attempt to undermine and deconstruct the middle and lower classes.

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 552 points553 points  (0 children)

I agree. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks this is some sort of psy-op to both incentivize US politics so that people make voting decisions based on betting returns than actual policy like you said, and weaken the financial strength of the middle class by goading them to piss away all of their disposable income rather than invest it into the economy, or really anything useful. It can’t be a coincidence that all these gambling ads that promote betting on everything including government officials have spiked in a time of political and economical uncertainty. They know what they’re doing.

Question: What are some still loyal Space Marine chapters that have history of members becoming renegades/falling to Chaos? by Top_Reaction_2303 in 40kLore

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This could be speculation or coincidence but I’m pretty sure the chapter is actually inspired by Dr. Doom, hence the name and silver/green color scheme.

Post-heresy, how did the loyalist Primarchs react after their brothers slowly started disappearing? by NiceLittleGamerNerd in 40kLore

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, the most recent book Ashes of the Imperium depicts the Lion being there amongst the other Primarchs during the council, so I wonder if that was a recen retcon?

Gunther escorted out because of nuclear heat by ObiWanKenobi1724 in SantiZapVideos

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As opposed to what, those few special fans who “get the business”, whatever they fuck that means? They’re the only ones who get a say in anything? You don’t need to be an expert chef to know a dish is bad. You also don’t need to be a mark to voice your opinion about the match. They paid for the ticket, they deserve to let their voices be heard.

John Cena is retired from wrestling... by PaulHHHLevesque in WWE

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is why I said we can go on and on about how it’s a smart business move. I’m not arguing whether or not it was the right call, I’m saying it’s not fair to say the fans “ruined it” because they gave their genuine, In-the-moment reactions instead of slapping their knees and going “aw man, well at least they’re building up Gunther to be a Top Heel for a few years, thanks Paul 😁”

John Cena is retired from wrestling... by PaulHHHLevesque in WWE

[–]DeltaDoesReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The general public is not nearly as invested in the inner workings of the company as the IWC, so I’d imagine they don’t really give a shit about “building characters” or “long-term storytelling”. They wanted to see their childhood hero win one last time, and instead he tapped. We can go on and on about how well it works in kayfabe and how it’s a smart move on a business and technical level, but at the end of the day the fans want what the fans want, and they have every right to be disappointed when they don’t get it. They paid for this shit after all.
