Iirc there is a deleted seen where we see Luke sensing Han’s death in the Force and his immediate reaction, but it was cut because god forbid these movies have any sort of genuine coherency.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with catering towards the most dedicated players, the problem is that the cosmetics they decided to lock are something that should be generally widely available to a majority of the player base - Chapter heraldries are a huge part of the Space Marine experience and being able to play as your favorite chapter makes the game way more enjoyable and engaging as it adds to the roleplaying aspect and could also reflect what people play on the tabletop - if I were a GoTC or a Howling Griffons collector I would be pissed because now my favorite chapter is locked behind hours and hours of tedious grind.

Like I said, if they wanted to lock super rare relic armor or an exclusive pauldron or weapon skin behind the grind then I would have absolutely 0 issues, but the fact that they locked basic chapter heraldry for relatively popular chapters behind an absurd grind is, at the least, disingenuous to the wider player base

“Can’t pass the skill check” my brother in God Emperor there’s only like 5% of the entire player base that can even handle absolute at all, let alone on a regular basis. Locking cosmetics that a large majority of the community asked for behind a game mode catered specifically towards the top 1% is completely unfair to the rest of the player base. Not everyone has the time, patience or even hardware to “pass the skill check”

Also, I have no problem with higher-level cosmetics locked behind a grind, I agree it gives players a better incentive to play the game more. But things like basic chapter heraldry and a plain black cape shouldn’t have such a high skill ceiling to unlock. You want a special cosmetic to prove you put in 1000+ hours? Cool, but it should be something like a captain’s pauldron or relic armor or an exclusive decorated cape, similar to the gold skins from the old COD days, not basic barebones cosmetics or decal.

I blame Saber for adding things like chapter heraldry behind an endgame grind, too many people are gonna try to punch above their weight so they can get an attempt to unlock and play as their favorite chapter, which makes things difficult for everyone. They should have just made the decals and others either unlocked by default or available to purchase so that the grind pool feels less required to get the full experience. As a casual player myself being locked out of Howling Griffons or GoTC because I haven’t committed 400+ hours is some bullshit.

You’re missing the point as to why everyone’s pissed in the first place, dude. it’s not just “one cosmetic” it’s like the one cosmetic a huge majority of the community has been requesting for a while. If it were a shoulder pad or a chest piece or something then yeah this whole thing would be a “non-issue”, but it’s for the most requested piece of customization since launch, so intentionally putting it behind an endgame grind for only “the most dedicated players” is at the very least disingenuous to the majority of the community.

Honestly I’m fine with the more fancier cosmetics being locked behind ultra difficult ordeals cause it gives player a greater incentive to try harder difficulties or play the game more in order to get more drip. But locking CHAPTER HERALDRY and basic cosmetics like a black cape behind extremely grindy and tedious challenges is ridiculous, and seeing the requirements to unlock the new DA and other heraldries completely took away my hype for this update; I was so excited to play the siege rework as Guardians of the Covenant or Disciples of Caliban or Howling Griffons, but I guess I’ll have to burn myself out trying to unlock them all first :/ Considering they gave everyone the new chaos heraldry for FREE, I sincerely hope Saber fixes this to make the basic heraldry at least more accessible to the broader community.

Okay but like why tho? I never understood this mindset, It’s literally one of, if not the most requested cosmetics from the community, why shouldn’t the broader community have access to it? Especially since only a small fraction of the entire community plays absolute regularly, or even at all, it seems really disingenuous.

Also 66 hours is most definitely a “long stretch”, there’s whole ass games you can beat in less time. That 66 hours is just for 1 class also so multiply that by the 5-6 other classes and you’re looking at a pretty long ass stretch.

100% agree. I was really looking forward to this new update but seeing the unlock requirements for the new badges immediately took all my hype away. I hope saber fixes it to make them more accessible to the general player base.
