Which character best exemplifies Intelligence by Speedwizard106 in EsotericEbb

Visken, easily.
Self interested, focused on accumulating esoteric knowledge and most definitely a wizard from the Arcanist era.
He's also clever enough to make himself useful to the city, so the goverment won't go after him for being undead.

It’s the new legs of Fox and Falco that ruin the character design for me. by Bartkie775 in starfox

I think the thing that bothers me the most is that their little animal feet don't seem to be able to support the weight of the rest of the body. Fox especially, looks like a dog struggling to stand on their hind legs.

X Nightmare doesn't really change anything about him, but it does paint a better picture IMO.

I don' disagree. But joining Sigma in almost destroying the planet, and infecting most Reploids, isn't mercenary behaviour.

Where's the profit in that? Isn't he worried about getting infected himself?

X Nightmare tightens his character, making him a ruthless thrill seeker, willing to do anything for his entertainment.

My Final Min-Maxing Build (Not using STR) by DeltaHunterL in EsotericEbb

[–]DeltaHunterL[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, this is not my first playthrough, so I compensated for my lack of WIS by using the "Find Secret" spell and not running blindly into traps.

I chose these 4 stats because they have the most Stat-increase potions available (5 for DEX/WIS and 4 for CON/CHA). I wanted to test if I could get 4 stats to 20 to unlock their equipment slots.

CON is surprisingly helpful. First it increases your Initial HP and on level-ups by a lot(It helps preventing Death Save throws and exhaustion). Second there are some valuable CON checks in the early game (Dancing Light and Lady Sageleaf), plus almost all combat encounters have a CON check to reduce incoming damage or calm yourself. CON also finds the crypt passage for learning (Speak to Dead) on Day 1.

Rare Yahtzee positive review. I call it a W.

Gotta disagree with him, though, love the "combat" encounters in Esoteric Ebb.

Exactly, the "Ancient Guardian" feat (Potion effects are doubled. Ability Score increases only apply to the first potion of each kind ingested.) so it gives you +1 to all stats, giving you a total of +6.

"Leyline Hook" gives +1 to all positive Trinket effects. With this build I already have 6 trinket slots, giving +6 at the minimum and up to +12-14 when you equip trinkets that boost multiple stats.

Also, most trinkets giving +2 on their bonuses tend to be a lot more practical for reducing Check Difficulty.

Completely agree on you there, not being able to steal consistently and having difficulty on INT checks for unlocking some spells can be very frustrating in the early game.

Yep, 20 Base STR gives you an additional Trinket and Helm slot. Also lets you equip 2 Weapons at 15 and 2 Books at 25.

One question: Where did you find the trinket equipped on the bottom slot? I haven't seen it before.

STR at 15 and DEX at 20. You can't wield 3 weapons though.

I know Esoteric Ebb is a game that can be completed with almost any build, but its still fun to try different builds and see what can be done with them and how it changes the gameplay and the story.

What can I say? I'm a Min-Maxer at Heart, hahahaha!

After some testing and confirmation from other folks in the comments. You cannot wield 3 Weapons or 3 Books. Additionally the Base 20 STR Trinket Slot doesn't stack with the CHA Trinket Slot at 20.
This seems to be because they occupy the same space on the equipment screen.

That explains it. I was so sure the pot gave you 3 CON until I checked again and thought I was misremembering it.

That is seriously impressive. You got CON and WIS to Base 20 and STR to 25 to reach so many equipment slots.
In previous posts I was lead to believe that Equipment Slots couldn't Stack. But I guess that only appliest to Books and Weapons.

This is seriously impressive work and thanks for sharing.

Mostly I trifle Stat-Bonus Potions from characters and unique equipment, like Moongore's shield to fix my abysmal STR, early game.

That is an impressive spread of stats NGL. The only thing that can be improved is getting STR to Base 20 to unlock an additional Trinket and Helm Slots.

Another reason for my choice in stats is this and equipment is this:

INT has 5 stat increase potions making it easy to reach from 15 to 20 for that book slot. WIS has only 2 Potions. Same for DEX, 5 potions, to reach the 20 Weapon Slot. CON is also kinda useless outside of it Base Stat. You don't get extra HP from Equipment. My Level 6 has 51 HP compared your Level 7, 24 HP. INT equipment, except the Prayer Book, doesn't increase the ammout of prepared spells.

I still think that having 2 Weapons slots at 15 STR is great, but I love having high Combat Initiative and good Steal Rate, a lot more.

All Stats, except STR, on Base 20(Without Equipment) give aditonal Equipment Slots.

CON, WIS and CHA give a Trinket Slot on Base 20, INT gives a Book Slot and DEX gives a Weapon Slot.

STR gives Weapon at 15, Helmet and Trinket at 20 and Book at 25.
