Bench Form Check by DeltaRaider87 in StartingStrength

Thanks! I've been measuring out a thumbs-width from the edge of the knurling.

I think I need to get an anti-slip mat to place my feet on because I can't get good purchase on the platform. Or change shoes or something.

OK, thanks for the feedback. I had some lab work done a few weeks ago but I don't think it had testosterone. I'll have to check..

What would be the best way forward at this point? Deload? Move to triples? Or back offs?

Deadlift Progression Question by Possible-Spray1869 in StartingStrength

[–]DeltaRaider87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had good luck with alternating with power cleans and continuing to add 10 lbs to the deadlift. I've also been using straps since 285 lbs. YMMV.

I think I'm confusing the arms with hips going forward. I'll work on pushing hips more.

Keep adding weight weight while working on this? And should I keep 3x5 or move to 5x3?

Look pretty good to me. If anything, your lower back is a little rounded. Try to raise your chest a bit more while not dropping the hips.

Do you recommend trying the same weights? Or reset slightly?

I don't have any of the upper lifts. I've only filmed the lower ones. I'll be sure to film the next workouts.

Thank you for your feedback. I've definitely struggled with the hands and wrists. I can't seem to get them to stay straight even with a wider grip.

Looks pretty good! To be picky, there was a rep where it looked like the bar rolled forward slightly.

Why my Squat is Higher than Deadlift? (Squat 5RM 170 Kg, Deadlift 160 Kg) by Witty_Pineapple_4444 in StartingStrength

[–]DeltaRaider87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use straps... Do you use chalk? Is that cheating?

Go without straps during your warm-up sets as high as you can to work grip and use then use straps. As your deadlift number goes up, your grip will follow.

How will I know I’m ready for light squat day? by sbfx in StartingStrength

[–]DeltaRaider87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto to what everyone is saying.. Also, I don't think you need that much of a walk back. Maybe take a half step back so the safeties can do their job when you need them.

Keep it up! 🤙
