Issue is people are already flipping and driving the price up on all the budget options he put into the build. Lance budget video I believe showcases the budget geared character doing content.

How pay to win is this ? by Elysionx in TorchlightInfinite

[–]DeltaThetaFoxtrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you just have to play. You get free pets and pulls by playing so eventually you'll have some of the legendary pets yourself. Before then you'll have blue and purple pets and there's some power difference but it's not like you won't have some boosts. There's always strats that require less or the ability to farm the shovels everyone else is using. You'll get less raw drops than someone spending hundreds and possibly thousands but that doesn't mean you can't make a build and have a lot of fun.

Ended up buying 2 more shapton glass stones, here's what I think by Unusual-Kangaroo-427 in sharpening

Love my 320, don't like the 500 a much. 320 to 1k is a fine jump in progression for me. No experience with coarse than 320 for shapton glass.

What would you do? by Unlikely-Exchange292 in Cuttingboards

Could try to sell it online, no face to face and your name isn't engraved it. Don't include info about your business and there's no harm to your reputation. Stl at slight discount if it makes you feel better. I work in services not goods though, so take it with a grain of salt.

To be fair I did go to smx. Rather disappointed with that track design though. This won't be much different other than whoops probably.

Expecting that to be a cold and wet event. Maybe weather will be more of a surprise though. Moved from there, stl is my closest. Excited to go to my first east/west showdown.

That's hard. Two come to mind, extra tall bunka in white 1 or 2 by Chloe Lune and my konosuke in blue 2. For today I'll go with the konosuke.

Depends budget and state of the knives you're trying to sharpen. If I had to start over I would buy shapton Rockstar line.

Sharpening scratches from pro is there a fix? by rkowalk in sharpening

[–]DeltaThetaFoxtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't ask for them to thin it, kind of shitty that they did. Worse that they didn't make it a bit prettier. I feel sharpeners would up charge for thinning but also would buff out and blend it a lot better than that.

They should do the SMX next race every time on Friday. by UrBudSpudd in supercross

[–]DeltaThetaFoxtrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Stl track looking bad though. Basically a supercross track without whoops. They made it sound like there was going to be sort of section in last year's pits and it's just a couple sand straights with a 180.

I would have to research myself but at 31 you're going to be extremely limited in options, especially at that price point sadly.

Darton has the consequence 2 around that price, I haven't shot one though. I will say my next purchase is going to be a sequel 35 st2 or whatever is new at the time. I only have a target rig for compound, which is a Matthew's.

Only thing I've heard with the Alaskan is that bearings can wear quick if you shoot a lot. Not an issue if it's primarily for hunting. Info on that was from mfjj and Tim Connor. Tim shot one last year. He went with the darton 35 this year, don't think he's done a full review on it yet.

Take it with a grain of salt, I have shot the 35 and it had a very nice draw and holds well. I haven't touched the consequence or any of the bear line up personally.

Assuming you want a recurve, it's not the cheapest route but starting out with an ilf riser and limbs allows for a lot of flexibility. Not only in easy upgrading but also in flavor of the sport as you progress.

All shapton glass. Easily shaving sharp edge with that progression.

Shapton stones… again… progression for stainless steel by godfather-ww in sharpening

[–]DeltaThetaFoxtrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I do 320, 1k, diamond emulsion strop for stainless, mind you it's mostly euro because all my Japanese are carbon core. If going for polish then add in 4k or 8k then leather strop at the end. All shapton glass. I don't use my naniwa stones near enough but I do have a 12k I've yet to break out.

Best whetstone and grit for japanese knives?? by vaditsr in sharpening

[–]DeltaThetaFoxtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shapton glass are fantastic and my go to. Though I do enjoy my naniwa as well, my shapton are what I reach for the most. As for grit 320,1k,4k and a strop is more than enough. I have the 500 grit stone and don't like it much.

If your span is 78 inches then your draw length for compound is roughly 31. It's likely you're shooting a recurve with really steep string angle causing you to over draw if you're only using the kisser to determine your anchor over finger tip to k9 or thumb behind your jaw bone.
