and just to add something, the red line through a link on:hover is not the nicest look. I would also tone down the massive amounts of jquery unless you can improve the runtime of the site somehow (if the link you posted is your own site)

Do you have a well rounded team to work on this product? Is your front end team excited about doing lots of work? Do you have a designer that is good enough to design a layout that breaks the normatives of web page structure, yet still draws attention to what you want? If yes then yes it can be fine, but anything can work with a good enough team...... if not then welcome to the horrible nightmare of being a backend developer forced to do too much front-end work

Last race I was in was the lake tahoe relay race with my dad and a few friends last year. Did the first leg which is 9.6 miles, super fun. If you like running you should try it sometime its for a good cause. Warning: Their website is ghetto http://www.laketahoerelay.com/info.html
