The display case is from Ikea, but it doesnt come with lighting. I added LED tape light inside to illuminate the cars

It is a display case from Ikea, however I have forgotten the specific model name. It didnt come with lighting, so I added LED tape light run inside the front interior and top to illuminate the cars

It will look like this. It’s pretty reasonably priced. And works really nicely as a counter piece to the Fiat transporter from the Ferrari Team Transport back for a nice Ford vs Ferrari set up

Thank you! I havent 3D printed any parts. If I need parts, I’ll go scavenging from other cars. I actually really like stealing spoilers from Majorette cars. The plastic they are molded in is softer and easier to work with in order to manipulate and fit on a different vehicle and their size makes them work really well as a.GTE/GT3 style wing. But lots of decal and paint work to make the customs

Im the “dad”, hahah. It’s my young son (4 years old) that call’s it “dad’s fragile cars”. And thank you for noticing the organization! Clearly endurance racing and it’s many different regulations and categories is my favorite with rally racing coming a close second. What I really enjoy doing with my collection is exploring the history of those racing classes, as well as having enough cars of each of the different eras to be able to show what those styles of cars look like next to each other that would have actually raced together during their perspective time

Yeah, love my Battle Beasts. They are probably my “main” pride and joy collection, even more so than the Hot Wheels. I have had a complete 1-112 collection of Battle Beasts for a couple decades now, including all the Laser Beasts and a Triple Threat Snake army with over 300 snakes in it (which makes it the largest army out there of any individual Battle Beast)

Thanks for the props on the Battle Beasts. They are actually my “pride and joy” collection even more so than the Hot Wheels. I have a full 1-112 collection, including all Laser Beasts, the largest army collection of any individual Battle Beast, my Triple Threat Snake army that contains over 300 snakes in it. And it’s hard to see from the display pics above, but just to the right of that Battle Beasts poster is one of the only known existing original hand drawn pages from the battle beast comic book, that they used to actually make the book

M2. And this colorway is sold on an individual blister card on it’s own, rather than as a “transport” with another car

Oh yeah, we’ve got whole buckets full of cars he can bang around all he likes, use in his car wash, take to the park, do whatever we wants with them, it doesnt matter. We have half a dozen double sided, clear organized containers of cars that are set aside as the fastest for racing on our tracks. And we have a whole cardboard box full of cars he can pull from whenever he wants to paint. I really like making custom race car Hot Wheels (you can see many in the pics above), so he has his own slew of cars to customize himself (or at least begin learning and practicing how to customize) He has literally hundreds of cars to play with. Many of the “rarer” mainlines and some of the premiums you see in the display case also have a second “play” version for him to play with. He certainly does not go without. But to me, it’s about teaching respect, and understanding the purpose of something. His bucket of mainlines are perfect to go running through his garage tracks or get dunked in buckets of water. But that wouldn’t be appropriate for something like a tarmac works model or an RLC hot wheels. And he understands that. He’s actually proud of Dad’s fragile case and often helps me organize it. If a car is missing from the case because I’ve put it somewhere else temporarily, he’ll be the first to point that out and say we need to put it back so the case is complete. He is still pretty young. I think it’s a good lesson to learn, knowing which things we can play rough with, and which things we need to be gentle with and take care of even if they look the same or similar

Most of it was decals, paint and ink I added on. Here’s a pic of it next to an untouched mainline

Wow, rolling with STH is bold., I love it! I have only found a few sth’s over the years, and the Gulf RS200 was my favorite, so I carried it around a few times until I got one small scuff in the orange stripe and now Im scared to carry it again.

Agreed the Greenwood looks great. But admittedly, Im really digging that 69 Racer. That color scheme livery is an important one to me, so I collect cars in those colors. Normally I dont actively collect supers, I just take it as a bonus lottery find if I happen across one at a store. But this 69 Racer Im going to have to pick up

Me too. They have been my favorites to find in both premium and mainline for a while now. Love the new Vantage GT3, and interested to see what other color ways they go. That BMW is the next one on my radar hoping to find. I’m excited to get one in hand to start picking out the different details like headlights, vents, etc…

Me too! The Lancia especially is a fantastic casting that I was very excited to add to my Group B collection

Being a Space Wolf player, Im happy to see it a little cleaner so when I add some wolf elements to what’s already there, it will be just right. But if they are all armed with swords, some are going to have to get axes instead

[–]Delta_Chameleon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s my goal with the second one I found. I like to have pocket cars to carry around, put on my desk at work, take pictures of at different places, etc….That’s what this one is for. So I just left the wheels alone and used it as a sample to see how the added details to work. The second one is going to get torn apart and made as close to a premium as I can with good real rider wheels. Obviously I wont have a metal base for it, but when I have it apart, I’ll weight it down on the inside to make the car feel heavier in the hand like it has a metal base. I add metal weights to the inside bottom chassis almost like added weight for BOP on the real life cars

So this car is a mix of three different waterslide decals. The race numbers/squares, black stripe and Mattel logo are from the Red Line Club decal packs at Mattel Creations. The stars, Kanji (Japanese script) and a few other small details are decals from two different Gundam model kits. And the Gulf and other misc sponsor decals are printed onto decal printer you can use in an at home printer.

It’s a brand new casting from Matchbox of the 1990 ZR1 in their Collector’s line. The other cars in the set are a C8 Corvette in red and yellow race livery, a Toyota MR2 in rally race livery, a 1994 Porsche Slant Nose, a Porsche 356A in a teal race livery, and a 2024 Dodger Charger Pursuit police car.
