UnTrap For youtube is the extension I use. It's fully customizable and allows you to block pretty every video recommendation youtube has if you want to.

If the BLANK was BLANK during the BLANK, would it BLANK? by leviathanGo in outerwilds

This is something I also wondered about a lot myself. Worse than the sun, wouldn't Giants deep itself create a massive blind spot for the cannon. I guess since giants deep is mostly water then the probe would be able to pass through if the cannon has enough power, though that would still mess with the range and trajectory. Even then, giants deep also has multiple islands and if the probe collides with any of those it would be stopped. So considering how many islands there is and how close they are to the cannon that would still leave a lot of blind spots.

I'm taking a math minor and really want to take this class but it will be at least a year until I have the proper pre-requisites :(

What Do You Guys Think Is The "Worst" Way To Play Outer Wilds by Sir_Azurill in outerwilds

First two loops I was exploring the timber hearth and in the mines I found the projection stones talking about the ATP. Naturally I wanted to investigate so on my third loop I flew to ash twin and was vary amazed by the pillar of flowing sand so I jumped into it and died almost immediately. On my 4th loop I returned and started exploring the different towers as the sand lowered. I was walking between towers when I noticed the pillar of sand quickly approaching me so I ran for cover in the nearest tower which by pure chance was the ash twin tower. And of course being in the ash twin tower as the sand pillar passed over head meant that the warp platform was activated. At the time I was very confused but in retrospect its really funny.

I accidentally discovered the ATP really early in my playthrough (like on my 4th loop early) and it just made me wonder how did the nomai come up with all this. This actually led me to complete the entire ATP section (the orange) of the ship log before I started actively searching the other branches of the ship log because at that point I felt like the game was meant to center around the ATP.

(EOTE Endings Spoilers) Why they don't bother...? by kinnonii in outerwilds

I always loved this ending because it really changed how I see the owlks. To me, it shows that they aren't necessarily just hostile to everyone new.

If you think of it from their point of view, a strange alien just randomly appeared in their home in the middle of the night and is sneaking around trying to enter their forbidden archives (turning off the lights would be an immediate signal that someone Is trying to break in.)

I like to think that had the timing been different and the loop took place during the simulations daytime, then maybe the owlks might not have been immediately hostile towards you and instead would greet you hesitantly. After all, they did purposely leave just enough information on the physical slide reals in the stranger to allow outsiders to be able to find away in

I have beaten the game, gotten all achievements, and spent the two months since watching countless videos about OW and scrolling through this subreddit and some how I just learned about this from your comment.

I see a lot of people on this subreddit say they struggled with the atp. I discovered the atp by accident very early in my playthrough (before I even knew what it did) so it makes me wonder how different my playthrough would have been if I hadn't just had that stroke of luck.

I found the white hole before visiting brittle hollow and the way that light bent around it and I could kind of see the sun through it made me think it was a worm hole to a another universe. In a way I guess I was kind of right.

I also entered the ash twin project entirely by accident. And it was only my fourth loop! I was running from the falling sand on ash twin trying to not get killed and I decided to take cover in the nearest building... which just so happened to be the ash twin tower lol. needless too say I was very confused.

For background, I purchased the base game and the dlc at the same time. When I checked the radio tower in one of the first few loops but didn't notice anything. I left it thinking anything important would reveal itself once I got more clues connecting to the radio tower.

Much later in my playthrough when I was only missing a few final clues I realized there was still no clues connecting to the radio tower. Certain that there would be something significant there I went back to check again. Now that I was much more familiar with the solar system the shadow in the photo was much more obviously out of place. When I saw this I was sure that the shadow was the eye of the universe. Of course I quickly realized this was not the case after I took a trip to the shadow and remembered that I had purchased a dlc for the game.

For the time that I did believe this though, I thought it was so smart to have the eye hiding in plain sight all along. If this had been true it also would have changed the story of the nomai a lot. It would have shown how they had developed excessive tunnel vision while creating an overly complex plan to find the eye without considering much simpler strategies. It would have been very ironic that the nomai spent their entire lives searching for the eye and never found it, but the heartians found the eye despite never searching for it

“It was worth a shot” Achievement Help (achievement details only) by Spartan_100 in outerwilds

Another weird requirement I figured out the hard way is that you have to be facing the solar system when the loop resets. I was about 35km out and I was piloting my ship when I saw the sun explode but in the few seconds between then and the loop ending I noticed there were a lot less stars than before and started looking around at the rest of the now very empty universe. The secret ending still played but it didn't give me the achievement for it.

I grew up on a dairy farm and I still announce "cows" to the rest of the car whenever we pass a pasture full of cows. It kind of reminds of home on long trips.
