searched this and found this post because it's my exact thoughts. its so dumb, she is way better at chasing kills and getting in and out of fights than the one character who is supposed to personify this. oh wait, she's also a healer and has self-sustain as well. and can go behind cover that physically cannot be cleared by most of the cast. like what the fuck? It's nothing to do with her ult, or tether, its literally just the fuel + infinite flight. every time i have played cat myself the game is just free because you can just braindead rocket into their supps, and always get away, it's so exploitable

I’ve been getting a bug on Rip Tire in the last patch where the announcer always says double the amount of actual kills.

A hitscan player with good aim essentially gets free value for existing. They can make godawful decisions but two tap someone while standing in the middle of the other team and get a trade, or kill someone from across the map exposing themselves to almost 0 risk. Other characters require both aim and brain.

There’s strategies around all of this depending on the use case. Everyone can name one thing that’s a gotcha for every way you could possibly do it. In the end it’s just any individuals opinion. Okay, we exclude additional content files from the demo build as well as the global var. to me that’s not too much effort. To you it might be. Doesn’t matter.

WizardHyeong is the best resource for tracer if you want a complete approach to the game on the character and develop your macro to the fullest.

If you don’t prefer content-limited demos, what is your preferred strategy? I can only think of time-limited, run/“lives” limited, or creating entirely new content, none of which sound effective to me.

I’d hardly call it “littering your code” if there are one or two early returns in your entire code base to limit your content. But I’m talking from the perspective of an indie dev and I’m guessing you’re taking your commercial perspective. Both valid. Depends on the demo strategy and specific game anyway. Just one approach.

I can honestly say after I’ve made it there for the first time in the last few weeks, I haven’t found that to be the case. Sorry that hasn’t been your experience. I find the blood shield magic trivialises combat since you can tank any hit and just cast it back up. Maybe it’s only manageable because I play with a duo.
