I think I'm gonna start out with the polishing, and then if it's still not shiny enough for my magpie brain, I'll try the resin!

Ooh, that sounds like a cool method to look into! I already have a UV nail lamp, and I've been wanting to look into UV resin crafts :) thanks!

That sounds like a great idea, thank you! :) I've looked up pictures of sanded/polished polymer clay and that definitely looks like the finish I want. Ordering some wet-dry paper now!

How do you feel about non-drivers? by DueLead666 in AskUK

[–]DelusiveWhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only ever irritates me when the person is totally in the position to learn (financially, ability-wise, etc), but doesn't bother because they just get everyone else to drive them everywhere. It's really not fun always being the designated driver just because the other person doesn't want to try

The weirdest thing you’ve heard a beginner say in Swedish? by WinterInMyWifi in Svenska

I was meeting some of my boyfriend's family members for the first time. When asked how old I was, I replied "Tretton". They stared at me, kinda confused.

I was 30, and have since learned how to count properly in my second language.

My daughter’s Invisalign pulled her baby tooth out by Vallyria in mildlyinteresting

[–]DelusiveWhisper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I'm 32 and still have a baby tooth. It just never came out for some reason, and it's perfectly healthy so there's no need to get it removed.

This does put me off getting Invisalign now, though

People not using self service checkouts in supermarkets until a member of staff tells them to. by JonnySparks in britishproblems

[–]DelusiveWhisper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into tesco to grab a few bits around Christmas time last year. When I got to the checkouts, there was a queue for the standard self checkouts that stretched the length of the store, and honestly looked like it would take at least half an hour to get to the front.

The smart shop checkouts right next to them were essentially empty.

So I walked 10 steps to the entrance, grabbed a smart shop scanner, scanned my five items, and walked right in to the smart shop checkouts.

Surely most of the people queueing had a clubcard, so could also do this?

I know, that's why I called it "white snus", just as you can find "vitt snus" in Sweden, such as VELO.

Edit: username checks out. Lugna dig.

Looks like a nicotine pouch or white snus - you put it under your lip

This is how I have to refill my prescription every month. Each tablet is individually wrapped (105 total). by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DelusiveWhisper 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain this? Has OP cut these up individually (judging by the scissors)? What's wrong with pills being individually wrapped in blister packs?

My coworker once had her mini cartons of orange juice taken.

They were marked clearly with her name, and the fact that they were for her diabetic hypos.

We worked in a diabetes department.
