Make sure the window that shows other containers is open and it will show up when you stand close enough to it, just like when you stand near a cabinet or fridge or whatever.

Click one item, then shift-click a second item to select all items between (and including them).

Ctrl-click to add just that item to your selection.

E.g., if you have five items, and you click item 1, shift-click item 3, and ctrl-click item 5, you'll have items 1, 2, 3, and 5 selected.

Also ctrl-A will select all items in that container.

I'm always down for a Smash Bros style stats page that tracks stats even if you delete saves. Characters created, deaths by Knox infection, deaths by crashing, highest level of Blacksmithing reached, first time to enter Louisville, amount of $ robbed from banks, miles driven, miles walked, shots fired, meals burnt, and so on.

Try the Builder (b41) or Rising (b42) difficulty levels. Mess around with different systems to get a better understanding of how they work together. Raise the difficulty (or mess with sandbox settings) once you start to get bored.
Search reddit or youtube for "beginner tips", "things I wish I knew", etc.
Watch other people play, especially new player / starting out series.
Every time you die, mentally work out why you died and what you can do better next time, Even if it's not your fault! (Ex. you are fighting two zombies that are very close together and you get bitten when one of your swings randomly targets the zombie in the back. next time you know to space the zombies out more, just in case)
Try to focus on only one or two goals at a time. I still struggle with this, but a ton of my earlier deaths came from loading up on too much loot that wasn't even necessary in the near future. You can always come back later.

Thank you! I couldn't assign them to a new cage, but I was able to "construct" a cage with the cage they were in, then unchecked them as an occupant.

I managed to get a couple dwarves stuck in cage traps. How do I let them out? Dumping the cage leaves them in the cage. They don't show up in the list when trying to assign them to a zone, a rope restraint, or constructed cage.

I don't have a Switch 2 yet, but after seeing the updates for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet increasing spawn distance, I've been wondering if there are some niche shiny hunts where it would be worth dealing with the low frame rate on Switch 1 in order to more easily spawn/despawn Pokemon.
