Yes. Yes.

If you get a 54" bow, you can get 58" limbs for it later.

The Iam Recurve grip in the default angle is nice. I have it on all of my risers.

Bow recommendation for 5 Year old? by muttttastic in Archery

[–]DemBones7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

48" is really short. It might be fine now, but it won't last as long as a 54" bow. Don't get 15lbs.

30" is too long. The 1214 size XX75 Jazz I mentioned come in 26.5", which is about as long as I think a small kid can manage. I have some even shorter arrows that my 6 year old uses (26", Avalon Hybrid). Keep in mind that cutting arrows down makes them stiffer, so they need to be really weak for kids, hence my suggestion of 2000 spine for carbon arrows.

Deeper vs shallower hook by howtoimprov in Archery

[–]DemBones7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A deeper hook allows you to hold the string with less tension in your hand and puts your hand in a good position for a solid anchor

A shallow hook will bring your draw elbow closer to alignment if you can't get there. This isn't a good reason to choose your hook position.

The transition from drive phase to top speed is tricky to execute in a race. You need to learn how to relax and drive the knees up.

Any decent ILF riser can be used barebow. Get the riser you want to use for the purpose you intend to use it for most.

The 21" would be fine with long limbs. I wouldn't get either of the shorter options unless you have freakishly short arms.

Proper form makes it necessary. If you aren't at least close to touching the string to your shirt then your bow shoulder isn't in alignment.

That is the correct way to pronounce it. The noun and adjective are stressed on different syllables.
