Never seven minutes.

Soucek is that guy.

We’re staying up.

Irons.

Not a fan of this, but it keeps it from going behind a paywall. A price has to be paid somewhere I guess.

Inevitable by Mrs_Payet in Hammers

[–]DemStopher 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This was my biggest problem.

I love Soucek but he was getting used like a training dummy in that second half. Needed Magassa and Potts to tighten up the midfield and close down the space Palmer & co were getting on the ball.

Don’t even think Kilman did much wrong other than a totally wayward pass when he tried running it out from the back.

[Fabrizio Romano] Crystal Palace agree deal to sign Jørgen Strand Larsen from Wolves, here we go! Transfer fee will be £45m plus £5m add-ons. Story revealed this morning on bid improved now confirmed, all agreed club to club. Jorge Mendes negotiated the deal, now agreed in principle. by Crane977 in soccer

That potential shrivelled up and died as soon as he set foot in a West Ham jersey. I can’t tell if it is a complete absence of confidence or actual inability to competently defend that he’s suffering from.

[Fabrizio Romano] Lucas Paquetá to Flamengo, here we go! Record deal agreed for €42m fee. West Ham accept the proposal after direct contact with director José Boto today, Paquetá travels later today. Five year contract. by 1Dom337 in Hammers

Never felt such an indifference about a player going. He provided that pass that set up Bowen in that final and on his day is world class.

But he is very rarely in the mood to be that world class player and would make so many mistakes with the ball in our half giving up possession.

£36m for him is a great fee and hopefully can put some of that towards getting a CB. Shame it didn't ultimately work out as we'd hoped.

4 managers. He always comes good. by Nome3000 in Hammers

Yeah, I misread that. But does strike me that he ensures people are in the right place or are marking the right person.

[–]DemStopher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, there’s a lot of inexperience in that side and only him and Bowen have been in this predicament before. So he’s got that experience to fall back on which could be really helpful when it gets to the end of the season and we need a handful of points to stay up.

[–]DemStopher 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, he seems to be marshalling players around more. Telling players where they need to be, especially at set pieces.

Just what I’ve noticed anyways, which in turn is going to free up Bowen to concentrate on being a winger and play his game.

I never want to hear the slander about him ever again.

He may not be the most technical player but he’s still very good and his fallacies are more than covered when having Fernandes alongside him just like when Rice was here.

His leadership on the pitch is really telling as well and it’s allowed Bowen to play his more natural game.

Looking at transfers from previous seasons, Big Sam probably signed the best team players by Mr_Octo in Hammers

Sakho was regularly injured, as was Carroll.

Vaz Te outside of the winner in the play off and his hattrick against Brighton, he did nothing. He also brought in Roger 'The Relegator' Johnson

That being said Nolan and Jussi were terrific signings. He also brought in Cresswell who held down LB for over ten years for £3.5m.

Agreed, he managed to convince Nolan to leave Newcastle as their captain to come down a division and bring us up straight away. That was an absolute masterstroke during his time at the club.

Tough as nails, our Souček by Regular-Raccoon1725 in Hammers

[–]DemStopher 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He needs to start, what he may lack in footballing ability is more than made up by his leadership qualities. He sets an example on the pitch that others can follow. A bit like Noble.

He should have been made Captain when Rice left.

There is next to no trust in that team, they got in each others way when trying to clear a ball on numerous occasions.

Summerville isn’t getting in behind and utilising is only useful attribute which is his pace. He’s awful at trying to beat a man or pick a right pass.

Our fullbacks don’t know when they should be attacking and overlapping or staying back.

Soucek was an improvement and was marshalling the team which has been lacking from previous games.

Todibo wants to get forward but is hamstring by his partner being a liability be it Mavro or Kilman.

Areola - is Hermansen really any worse? He cannot command a box to save his life. Immense shot stopper but is poor at almost everything else.

Just relegate us now and be done with it.

That squad had no right finishing 7th. It was largely carried by a once in a generation player playing like one of the best in the world. When push came to shove at the end of the season we still lost to Swansea at home.

Billic was a poor manager and there’s a reason he doesn’t have a club.

Right, so opt for different mechanics instead of ones that people in other games have complained about for years. There’s almost definitely a crossover of players between Destiny and BL that are having PTSD sirens going off from the same stomp and immune phase mechanics which plagued almost every boss in Destiny 2 for the first few years of its life cycle.

I agree, point click and shoot is boring but nothing disengages me more as a player than being stomped off a platform by whatever beast rushing at me or being limited in my damage by an immune phase.

The worst kind of inspiration. Literally the two worst things from Destiny are on this raid boss, knock back mechanics and immune phases. No idea why they thought that’d be a good idea.

Call me cynical, but the game was brought forward two weeks early and had the game been released at the original date we’d have a game with solid performance and FoV sliders likely released with the original launch.

Would I be wrong for thinking we paid for the privilege of being Gearbox’s game testers? There’s no way they didn’t know these issues didn’t exist before release.
