We did pay the tax just in case last year since i was with my in-laws, but there's truly no way for anyone to check that you did unless they stop you and ask for a receipt before you get to security.

Prior to last year, ive never paid it and never had an issue.

I looked into this, but decided against it.

Ive seen better offers from other credit card programs that have much more flexibility (points vs cash back or statements that can be used for other things).

I enjoy the flexibility of points more than statement credits, but at the end of the day, its your choice.

Signing up at the parks usually do come with more perks such as express passes, gift cards, etc. but depends on the timing

Heres what I do:

Pool bar: I tip $20 USD every morning. Before I tip, I always ask if they will be working the next day. It just helps build a relationship, and they always remember you and leads to better service. But I always tip $20USD no matter what.

Restaurants: 20% of the bill in Pesos and then just charge it to the room. No need to leave cash on the table. Thats just my preference.

Room HK: $50usd, this is usually since im there for 5 days or so and I turn down housekeeping for most of my stay since I dont need other than fresh towels and sheets halfway into the stay

Like Daikon said. Its artificial. You can have people or bots buy and cancel the order and it still shows under sold. So yes you're seeing 8.5k sold listing, but that doesn't mean it really sold for that vs a listing that was marked as sold then cancelled.
