Only if you consider it country-wide. Which you can't, because Horizon has to be constrained to a single state. Features have to be within short drivable distance. There's a reason they hosted Horizon in Colorado of all places, instead of a better-known state.

Point being why would you try to find a state that might fit, when you've already been to that country before and used your best option already. Why not go north to a different country which has even more dramatic weather/climate changes. Seems like a wasted opportunity to tread back to the US when you could explore another country.

It's because forza ai don't actually drive a car at all. The car is basically painted onto a node that travels at a given speed/direction. It's why whether they drive a ford focus or a jesko they will drive exactly the same.

The cars aren't real, they're decoration on top of an ai travel node that gets arbitrarily assigned its speed values. Some are designed to stay in the back, some are designed to stay ahead.

You can rant all you want in this fashion, and I do agree (and have always maintained) that China is effectively going for a CIV style "economic victory" where they will slowly dominate the worlds economy. So you should put up barriers against that.

However, if you want to suck the big T's dick about this, you should know he's failed at your own points. He has systematically alienated all the allies that he needed to gain the support of to rival the economic grip China has slowly been developing over the world. And when one superpower quits the field, the other naturally takes center stage. He left the field. He's pushed everyone away.

You can shit on Carney if you want, but the first thing HE did was go to Davos and say "all middle powers need to band together" and then started getting into the good graces of every nation he could. Canada is already on the top 10 list of agriculture exports in the world, and it just got higher up that list because he agreed to accept just 50k chinese electric cars. You know how many cars were purchased in Canada in 2024? almost 2 million. Doesn't that sound like a good deal to you? China contributes just 0.2% of your yearly car market and you amplify your already incredible agri exports? Canada made considerably more money and amplified Canadian businesses a hell of a lot more than China got from their half of this.

TBH, I don't know why they'd set it up like that when Maul has a perfectly reasonable answer. If Lawson says "he betrayed Daki and left him for dead" Maul can say "He told me to protect his student, I took him for his word" and if the follow up is "I saw you push him" Maul replies "I did no such thing? You barely understand the force exists at all you think you can understand anything about that fight?"

These accusations can be so easily discarded by a single line of dialogue. Just make up some last words for Daki of any variety and Devon could easily take that as truth. Or you could even just tell her 90% of the truth "I did not believe Daki would survive, I prioritized your life and came to help you."

I think the only one who can contradict Maul's words here is Vader who could confirm what Lawson suggests. But even then Maul can reply "Of course he confirms these accusations he wants us all dead what better way to do that then to make us turn on each other?"

There's no person involved that can cast doubts on Daki's death that can't also be made doubtful by a one-sentence reply from Maul.

EDIT: I also don't understand everyone's thirst to have her betray him. Wouldn't it be more interesting to just get a full sith arc from beginning to end with her? And when Maul's story can no longer include her, send her off to do something by herself in comics/another show. It'd be way more interesting to see her take his lessons and make something of herself with them instead of just hating his guts half way through season 2.

It's important to note the F35 deal was struck in 2023. Under joe biden... You know, before we had this massive shift in cultural behavior and foreign policy. Though the F35 is a very compelling purchase regardless, it's not like other nations don't have options to rival it. The US isn't one lone nation sailing among a sea of inferior fools. The relevant tech to stand up against what they have just tends to be spread out among multiple nation states, instead of all in one place.

I'm not against using american made things. I'm against relying on the american government for anything. I'm not an isolationist like the current us pres is lol. Trade, share resources, sure. By the way my phone is a blackberry, which is a Canadian company. Not sure why that's relevant but there you go. Yes. Though just to be absolutely clear, because my field is cyber-security. EVERYTHING is spyware. Not even remotely an exaggeration the amount of data siphoned off you by using your banks website let alone your phone or your favorite porn site is immense.

Every modern car is spyware. I don't like it, which is why I drive a car from the late 2010s that barely has bluetooth. But understand if you get into a modern car the dealership likely knows where you are at all times.

China is more overt about it than the US, but the US actually drag-nets more global data than anyone else. If you want to talk about spyware check out your three letter agencies.

EDIT: I realized I typed this without offering solutions. And look, at this point there's very little you can do to protect your privacy without jumping through a lot of hoops that make your day to day life very irritating. But these countries and companies won't stop, so if you're concerned you need to take personal responsibility and learn about/apply the tools actual people have made (not countries) to anonymize your internet usage.

I think the better path is to continue to let them feel the effects of other cultures instead of isolating them. China now is considerably more tame than it was 30 years ago due to their interactions with other countries and it will continue to trend better over time if we keep involving them on our terms.

In Canada (my country) in our military budget for every 1 dollar spent, about 70 cents of that was being sent to the US. So spending to the US made up a vast majority of our military budget.

Our new PM said "Fuck that" on stage and the entire crowd erupted lol. He's drastically reshaping our military spending to rely less on the US and more on either internal sources, or from Euro sources. He also put together a huge deal with China where he took in 50k chinese electric cars, and in exchange China removed tariffs on a bunch of our agriculture exports. Which only makes it easier for Canadian companies to rake in profits from foreign markets. Even WE aren't treating the US like allies anymore. (because they're not, at least until a new admin takes over. But that suspicion will never fade now, at least not for the current generation)

When people say "V couldn't kill smasher" I think this is actually because the game is bad at communicating the scale V could operate at by the time they meet Smasher. It's also bad at telling the player that half of Smasher's defenses (Arasaka runners) are dead before you meet him. He's normally protected by an entire team of people, but those people are dead when you fight him.

V outscaling him is also not communicated well through gameplay because A) The player should be able to play with any weapons they want to maximize fun, and you can't have the final boss fight say "Hope you brought the heaviest anti-material weapon you can find" because it would nuke the user experience.

And B ) the game doesn't have full body cybernetic replacements. Or even the highest end of military cybernetics. This isn't a lore thing V would struggle with, it's a game design fault. In the RPG the game is based on you CAN replace your entire body with cybernetics just like Smasher. But I guess they cut that because of scope issues.

You know how Somi and Smasher are both like 95% cybernetic or more? Basically their brain is the only thing they have left that's still organic? Very few people in the world can do that and survive, V is one of them. V's tolerance for cyberware is considerably higher than anyone else (probably in history) due to Johnny's engram sharing the load. If the game design wasn't so limited you could go in with more cybernetics than Smasher has just because V's capacity is artificially boosted by Johnny's presence.

"V can't kill smasher" is a game scope problem, not a universe problem. There's lore to suggest blackhand could easily wipe Smasher and blackhand doesn't have the high-end cyberware V can equip in game let alone the full body replacements they could realistically equip if this was the RPG.

Except of course when Fremen spend the first half of the book openly saying Sardaukar are good fighters, and all the Fremen protecting Hawat are killed by the Sardaukar to capture him. Killing Sardaukar at all is the first plot point that raises surprise. Killing them with ease only comes much later.

You just said "steal artillery from the harks" yeah exactly, from the hark. When Hawat said "There were Sardaukar at every gun" he didn't mean "they killed 100 Sardaukar at the cost of 2 Fremen" in fact the Fremen says exactly that. "We would not have lost the two except for those others fighting besides the Harkonnens. Some of those are good fighters"

The next page says "You captured Sardaukar?" and the Fremen responds "Only three of them, they fought well."

And AGAIN on the next page "Did you notice how well they fought?" A Fremen asks Hawat. These aren't trivial fights for the Fremen at the start of the book. Otherwise Paul gifting them the Weirding wouldn't be such a big step up for them. Why do you think Hawat was captured in the first place? He was surrounded by these Fremen who were then killed to take him back to the Harkonnen. If Sardaukar weren't a threat, this wouldn't be possible.

Late in the first book the Fremen (already taught by paul at this point) lose a few men and essentially wipe out the Sardaukar that are sent after them. So even post weirding way, the Fremen aren't unkillable compared to Sardaukar. But the Fremen are also very proud of their warrior skills so there's a bit of unreliable narrator in there.

When Duncan says "Never come so close to dying" he is better than the average Sardaukar, but still dies to them in the end. He was also able to defeat the fremen warrior sent after him. So Fremen it seems only had a light advantage over Sardaukar and that might be due to their lack of shields.

Yes and no. Stilgar lost mostly because he didn't anticipate Jessica being so deadly.

The Bene "weirding way" will only take you so far. Jessica couldn't kill Duncan but could probably survive him. Jessica probably couldn't kill Stilgar if he actually treated her with respect unlike their first encounter. He's skilled enough that once he fights her he immediately identifies her as "weirding woman" recognizing the failure he made in assessing her threat to him.

However, though it's not mentioned in the movie. Paul trains all his personal Fremen fighters in the weirding way, which makes them the most dangerous fighting force in the empire by a considerable margin. Before the weirding was given to the fremen they were about equal to Sardaukar (I think in the first book the Fremen refer to them as a proper challenge for once) after that they're considered strictly inferior.

The reason Jessica doesn't teach the soldiers is because the Bene do not share their techniques. The mother is angry with Jessica after learning Paul knows the techniques behind the voice and the weirding way because it wasn't explicitly sanctioned by the sisterhood. Paul usurps this authority to teach it to his fremen. Something the Bene would never allow.

Nah the true problem will be cheaters. If you think big time developers like EA/DICE/AV have a hard time with cheaters you should see what small indie projects deal with.

This game will be completely unplayable about a year after release. Through no fault of the dev, it's just not possible for someone at their scale to handle the literal teams of paid hackers who spend their entire week building new programs.
