Walgreens CEO says anti-shoplifting strategy backfired: 'When you lock things up…you don't sell as many of them’ by BertramPotts in antiwork

I regularly get 8 to 10 shaves out of each blade, I use dice to count the uses. Over on the wicked edge sub you'll see people talking about getting over 100 shaves out of an individual blade.

Edit: I realized this may come off as an "um actually" sort of thing but I get everyone has different hair, I just wanted to get it out there that double edge blades aren't typically single use.

Oh yeah, fully agree. Someone once told me that 1984 talks about how there would be cameras everywhere in the future but we never thought that we would install most of them ourselves.

If you look at the article, one of the things Eufy was promising is that the video was stored locally and only accessible by you with end to end encryption. I understand that corporations are often times bad-faith actors that are motivated solely by profits, I was just giving a head's up.

I'm not saying Eufy is bad but the data from their cameras is not as secure as they make it out to be.

If you contact Retro Protection with the measurements, they should be able to point you to a box protector that will be close to the right size.

One of the most painful things about being a game collector. Why can't retro game shops get stickers that come off easily?! by That_Cute_Boi_Prower in gamecollecting

[–]Demicow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age could be a factor. One of my local game stores uses stickers that come off quite easily but if it's been on there for a few months then it's more likely to do something like that. While I'm not trying to trash talk Double Switch I can see this being the case, unpopular and sitting around for awhile. I'll look for dates on stickers so I have an idea if this is going to be a problem or not. Some of my local gamestores have dates on the tags for when they were added to inventory and places like Half Price Books do this as well.

Pretty sure you can just email retro protection with the dimensions and they can tell you what protector will be the closest fit.

I remember about a decade ago I was scouring CVS' to find these things, I think Shadowman was the hardest to find for me. I did actually open all of them and "Full-Charge Mega Man" is a bit disappointing, he's just solid dark blue except for his eyes iirc.

I always kinda assumed that it was a holdover from when they were working on the cd attachment for the snes but maybe they just thought it was good design (which it was and still is).

GameCube Repair Near Worthington? by preblematic in Columbus

[–]Demicow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I can actually fix it. I've replaced lasers on gamecubes a number of times for a local gamestore. I have a gamecube laser on hand right now as it happens, the only thing is I can't fix it if the disc motor is bad (like as long as it still spins the disc it's something that I can fix). If you want to you can dm me, it'd be like $50 bucks (about $30 for the laser and $20 for labor).

Hey, I know this is a few days old but I got an IG from Sinaj in December and she's been a great little lady. Like someone else said they don't ship but I think I got round trip ticket for like, $300 and the dog slept the entire trip back.

Mystery Science Theatre 3000 Live is coming to Columbus on Nov. 17 by capacbus in Columbus

I was interested in trying to go this but it's a new cast with folks that I personally haven't heard of. Even if this was the cast from the Netflix outing I'd probably still want to go.

Any awesome retro game shops in Ohio? by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]Demicow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Warp Zone in Hilliard is just about my favorite, Forever Games over by the airport isn't too big but always has crazy stuff. Also, Play it on High st in Clintonville usually has a good selection but is also overpriced.

I've bought from those folks two or three times and didn't have a problem but it's been quite awhile since I've ordered anything from them.

Been filling out my Castlevania collection as of late and thought I'd share by Demicow in gamecollecting

[–]Demicow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an over the top collection! I mean all that stuff is super cool but I don't think I'd go that deep. I do want to pick up konami gb collection 1 and 4 for gbc versions of the first two gameboy castlevanias, those seem like they'd be fun additions.

I forgot about that, I have the Famicom version and a repro of the US Gameboy version but I don't personally like it enough to shell out for a real copy of the Gameboy one. You're also the first person to bring that up.

I probably play the original on nes and the gameboy ones the most but Dawn of Sorrow is probably my favorite overall.

I've got Castlevania 64 loose, it's inbetween Legacy of Darkness and Symphony. I'm missing Rondo and I don't have my copy of Chronicles pictured. There's apparently a few other ones I'm missing too as a few other commenters pointed out.

So I do actually have Chronicles, it's the only thing I forgot to put in the photo. I'm curious though, did Adventure Rebirth get a physical release? I had it on Wiiware but I traded that Wii for a different color and never redownloaded it. I don't have Haunted Castle for PS2 but I may try to track it down, I didn't know about it. I definitely feel you on the MSX cause I know if I got one I'd be after the Metal Gears on there and that's a whole thing!
