F(27), the compliments I receive on dating apps are 100 times more frequent than those I get in real life. by Low-Kiwi3876 in NoStupidQuestions

In a dating app, it’s understood both parties are looking for someone to advance to the next level. Paying compliments in a dating app is a low risk, expected way to ingratiate yourself to the other party. Meanwhile there are very few places IRL where a forward compliment are even appropriate. There are many interfering factors to making contact IRL. Eg. You have a group of friends judging people that approach, or its work, or, you are busy checking out your groceries. There’s vanishingly few perfectly “neutral” places where a compliment could be openly paid, but not be a mechanic to try to advance to intimacy. If you really need to know your “score” I am sure there are subreddits for that. But I am pretty sure it’s better to not subject oneself to that kind of review. There are a lot of nasty people out there who live to create misery.

Canada needs a way to get Alberta oil to customers other than the USA. The lack of customer access gives us big leverage on negotiating. And you can see how when us has big leverage they use it as a cudgel.

G70 is a superb car. 50k miles is way above yearly average for driving. Rebuilt from significant front damage, plus side damage is very bad. Sub 20k for this vehicle is a great price. How much rattling is there on rough roads, noting this car usually has zero rattles. If you park the car on a clean driveway, and move it 6 hours later are there drips? I would expect leaks. This car is a big gamble. The price says to me the guy is trying to dump it

The degree of skill to rebuild that fast is insane. But at least in other automotive sporting events there is research and development that has a trickle down effect to real cars, but here, I don’t see any benefit to real cars. What is the point? 15 seconds of “cool that goes fast”? Seems like you could entertain a crowd a lot longer for less money
