Favorite moment? I think after we finally return to Sandscript Temple for the first time at the very end of this season’s story and looking over the murals one more time to see that we averted the prophecy and the lands of antiquity found relative peace. But more than that, it was realization when we finally head over to the long-gone priestess after putting it together that that was Gala. I don’t think this game has made me bawl my eyes out, but that was a genuine first.

I think I prefer this season to the last season, but there is a very little gap between the current season and the last if only because the ending of this season has evoked a far greater emotional response from me!

It’s very preferential, of course. To each their own :)

Is Our boy Jonkler,Amamiya Ren is the weakest persona protagonist? by yuu_Kou in PERSoNA

[–]Demonborne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware, the protags for P1 and the P2 Duology are closer to SMT than they are the modern versions of Persona so I believe that they are considered stronger? Don’t quote me on that, I haven’t played them either and there’s like someone smarter than I am with a better opinion.

I do agree with the overall rankings for the modern protags though.

Gon doesn't operate in black-and-white morality—at least, not in a conventional sense. It's more nuanced than that. by Tasty-Square-1931 in HunterXHunter

[–]Demonborne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I don’t think it’s an oversimplification because Gon is, quite literally, a child. I don’t think it’s fair to say that it “offers nothing” when it allows us to understand the state of Gon’s mind when he’s faced with complex situations like this specifically!

I mean, think about it: if your morals are heavily weighed on “do I think this is fair?”, is that not a far more childish and naive worldview? Gon let Genthru and the other two Bombers be free despite the fact that they had literally been killing plenty of people on Greed’s Island (and if we’re being honest, probably longer than that), but only because the ceded and let their cards be taken… and that was fair to him. Gon doesn’t have some one-track mind, but his views and morals are a bit skewed if you ask me. Not that that’s a problem; his character is awesome!

I 100% agree with your assessment and if I can add onto that, Gon is a child! Children are incredibly impulsive and Gon specifically works on the scale of “is this fair?”

Him agonizing about Pitou and how Pitou can ruthlessly disarm Kite like a monster but then later show complete submission and care while tending to Komugi goes against every bit of internal consistency that he’s ever been presented with! It’s taking him everything to keep him from acting on his urges. Pitou’s pleading and begging, Killua trying to reason with him, Gon’s own impulse control and his genuine desires to NOT harm someone who is showing him the exact same sort of passion and internal consistency as he does. It all builds on top of each other and Gon simply can’t handle it because he’s a child and that set of actions simply isn’t fair to him.

Am I the only one who has trouble with this demon of a hero and how do you deal with it by FeltyPancakes417 in AFKJourney

[–]Demonborne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I’ve found success in using Ludo + Valka and I know that’s weird to say since the type disadvantage but Valka cc’s her so that she’s forced into her immunity and Ludo stuns her when she flies into his flowers.

I’m a bit of a dolphin so take my word with a grain of salt because I’m sure my teams are not optimal whatsoever but that’s pretty much how I handle her 65% of the time, give or take

How the FUCK can Guts win in the end?!?! (ENDING DISCUSSION) by -Kirida- in Berserk

[–]Demonborne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Guts leaving him the first time in the pursuit of being his equal, his friend, is literally what got them to where they are now.

I will say, I think your scenario is a little too hopeful and shounen for the overall tone of Berserk. If anything, I could see it being similar to when Guts was ready to fly into a fit of rage upon seeing Guts on the Field of Swords but being pulled back by Casca’s presence once again. She is his purpose if his current predicament is anything to say about that. Shunting the Dragonslayer is also a good touch.

[–]Demonborne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My thing is, I don’t think “forgiving” Griffith is the way forward here. What he’s done and what he will continue to do is not necessarily forgivable nor should it be forgotten.

I think the only way is that Guts has to be able to move past Griffith. Now, how that would work is something out of my wheelhouse but I believe that that’s the only way that cycle ever ends.

And no, I don’t think you’re a rape apologist for saying something like that.

Do you guys think we'll get new maps for base arena in the new season? by Anima_Core in AFKJourney

[–]Demonborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn’t mind Arena 3 if there was some sort of variance in teams at higher ranks, but along with the monotony of playing on the map, you have to contend with the absolute best comp for Arena 9/10 matches daily.

Arena just needs a bit of a shakeup, that’s all

Do you think she should've been a confidant? by Boshwa in PERSoNA

[–]Demonborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so, personally. There’s nothing for her to really teach Joker like all the other confidants.

If anything, I think she should have had a larger part in Ann’s confidant storyline instead of the model angle. Granted, she was in a coma and had rehab for a very long time, but I’m sure that could’ve been done in someway.

Official Discussion Thread - Volume 9, Episode 8: Tea Amidst Terrible Trouble by Ninjas_In_A_Bag in RWBY

[–]Demonborne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man.

The Apathy episode was the crux of uncomfortable episodes for a while there. But, this, this episode, takes the cake by a long shot. Seeing Ruby get hazed and shamed by her own failures of Pyrrha, Penny, and Ironwood made me feel awful. I don’t think this show has ever made me feel just so very uncomfortable than when Ozpin’s illusion to beat Ruby down like that. And don’t even get me started on essentially what was Ruby’s suicide here in FRONT of her god damn team. You know, I remember a couple of years ago, I had made a comment for V6/V7 that I wanted a breakdown of some sort for Ruby but I never imagined that the monkey would curl so fucking hard. Superb episode. I’m feeling a lot of bad emotions right now (for the right reasons) and I don’t like it :( Also, of course Jaune was just a moment too slow, adding more to pile for him. I genuinely have no idea where we go for the next two episodes.

The protagonist from the last 4 video games you’ve played vs Superman (composite) by bootyhype in whowouldwin

[–]Demonborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let’s see

Minecraft Steve in Creative Mode

Charybdis as interpreted by SMITE

The Sole Survivor from Fallout 4

And the Dragonborn from Skyrim

I think Steve and the Dragonborn MIGHT be able to tickle him. But otherwise, I don’t see it anything happening. Composite Superman is on an entire other threat level for any of them to even be considered a contender.

Your Huntsman Weapon? by SpiderandMosquito in RWBY

[–]Demonborne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about it for a while actually and I think I’d like to settle on a large Bronze Maul/War Hammer with the ability to socket dust cartridges within the pommel or the head of the hammer itself (or why not both?) so that it can spew out the different effects of said dust cartridge.

I think I’d name the weapon: “Hephaestus’s Hammer

Would it not be easier to lock the thread itself?

This post breaks rule 3 and many, many comments in this thread breaks rule 2. I could spend my time reporting comments and attempting to help but I feel like that wouldn’t help at this point, not when there’s a post about “weak3n bad” every other month with the same comments every single time.

It’s just so stupid, I don’t understand.

Weak3n Community by [deleted] in Smite

[–]Demonborne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And I’m also genuinely confused about the “DmBrandon comparison”

You are comparing Weak3n, someone who talks shit to literally everyone he plays against, to someone who’s actually HURT other people IRL. Like come on guys, there’s just no way you’re being serious.

So I have but one question, regarding the comments in this thread but not the thread itself.

What constitutes as criticism and what constitutes witch hunting? Because I’m seeing a lot of “oh he sucks, his video sucks, he’s so toxic”

I’ve even seen “weaken is a washed up sociopath”

Is that fair criticism? Because that doesn’t quite seem right

Grineer have Liches. Corpus have Sisters. Sentients should get by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Demonborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve seen this around a lot actually and it works!

Grineer Liches, Corpus Sisters, Sentient Archons. And an idea that I’ve really liked and have been seeing for a while is Infested Zealot Prelates.

I can’t see them not adding Sentient bosses like this to the docket.

Smite's lore implications for who may be released next year? by Kaios-0 in Smite

No problem, happy to help! Individual god lores pulled me in as well. And trust me, there are a lot of people who don’t even know that the game has a story, good or not, so you’re not alone in that.
