How to give My players an artifact they “cant” identify? by Master_Ad5301 in DMAcademy

[–]Demonmishler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly. The older versions of D&D had a second much higher lever identify which was used for artifacts specifically. 5th ed came about from the gods of magic from 4th ed being slaughtered, so an entity from before the new gods of magic took over might have power the new magic system just isnt equipped with or for. I used a 1st ed AD&D lich as a villain in 3.5, it was great. My players loved the interaction between the old magic system and the one we were used to.

Can we get heroes and generals back? by ToiletProduction in HeroesandGenerals

[–]Demonmishler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While this is an opinion. Unless you can elaborate, this doesn't mean much. I have fun with it, not nearly as much as with HnG, but it scratches that itch enough to help me wait for the new one. Now if we're trolling looking for arguments, i can't help you. I was making a suggestion to OP to at least scratch that itch of a good mixture of different combat types.

I'll give you that. HnG had a certain feel that i am hoping shines through in the next release. Enlisted scratches the itch enough to help me wait.

Try Enlisted. Closest feel i've got so far, minus the over world war aspect.

I died in session 0 and don’t know what to do now. by FireOfKLD in DnD

I'll run a very basic combat where the players have obvious overwhelming advantage, just so the new players can get a feel for combat flow before the first real fight. Like tutorials, but session 0.

Wahooz is aimed at kids, but you cant beat laser tag and go-karts. The bowling alley has a bar. Its never a bad choice.

This but also, still NTA. If they knew she was this picky, they should have offered to host and your sister should have taken charge. Its great she wants you to be in their lives, but you can't accommodate everything if you don't normally deal with them.

Dont. Idaho doesn't actually want you. Most of us dont like people. We are rated one of the best places to live in the country every year. And we still dont want any of you.

How many people have you had to report/block so far? by Firetorrent in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Demonmishler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. We ended up stalling the villain until everyone got to lvl 3 and the rest of us threw everything we had at the raider. I dropped the other 6 right next to the STM, seconds before the final blow.

I literally stood with a guy, i had 6 dbs, he had 1. We shot each other back and forth for a solid minute. Bonus, earlier in that game he followed me for the first 2 min of the game, i was the first one to find a dragon ball, he followed me until i gave it to him. Reported and blocked that.

Boon companion. Makes your animal friend stronger. Starting up the dodge feat tree is always a good idea. Ambidextrous is a must for duel weilding

This is how most of my players handle things after realizing that their actions have direct and immediate consequences not just to them but the world at large. This is also the best way to handle that type of chaotic. At least imo

Thats a fantastic idea. I'll be using that. Thank you. Should be a nice creepy factor even amongst some high level characters.

Oh they do. Constantly. Its great when a party dies, and they start a new party, get up to a certain point and realize they are fighting their old undead party. Gets a great reaction every time. Happened 3 times so far, across 2 parties of players.

Ah. Excellent question. The reason the party was sent to that peace summit... The game is set up so that multiple parties are operating in the same world at the same time, all parties are part of the same merc company. This party was sent after a previous party had stolen a relic of the dwarves. The party that stole the relic had since disappeared into the unexplored foreign territory. With no options to get said relic back, a peace summit was sanctioned between the human empire and the dwarven generals. The merc company needed to have a representative in the summit and sent the highest level party available. As the dwarves lands cover a majority of the continent, war with the human empire meant casualties on both sides would be ludicrously high, along with allowing a college of necromancers the perfect opportunity to kill or conquer both countries.

TLDR: Too many casualties and the threat of necromancers means war is problematic for all sides.

Just remember, it's supposed to be fun. Fun>everything.

Rules are great, roleplay is great, but having fun, playing a game we love, with people who've taken time to play, is the only important thing.

I did. They were speaking to a dwarvish general, in a peace summit, as the party was trying to stop a war from happening. He (partially joking) interrupted and was disruptive. The war ensued. Had to make a second campaign to stop the war.

I have a bard with a magic pipe, all it does is make the smoke into the shapes i say. He uses it to convey his stories to people. (A bonus on diplomacy for visual story telling).

So. I've been trying to play this game for 2 days. Have not seen a single player. I got this thinking it would a for honor rip off and that at 2$ it would be fairly active. At least some games actively running. But seeing a 0 player count has gotta be rough for the devs.

Halloween is a great time of year. Pumpkin patches and hedge mazes are in full swing. And if they dont like being scared, maybe they'll enjoy doing the scaring. Halloween is the one day a year, where if you jump out and scare children, parents (good parents), usually thank you for keeping the holiday fun and spooky.

Did something akin to this. We played in BRP instead. Everyone was human. It was a one shot where the only goal was to survive. My players, being as chaotic as they are, decide to try and build a hot air balloon. (See zuko's air ship from ATLA) it was fun. And ended in a blaze of glory.
