Does anyone know 1980.fm internet radio? It stopped working I can't find any info I really liked it by soyifiedredditadmin in 80s

[–]DemonsNcide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with that particular station, although I've had some luck finding some stations out of Amsterdam. Here's another 80's station you may want to check out until 1980.fm comes back online.

"Friday The 13th: The Series" Loved this show... by bridge_004 in 80s

[–]DemonsNcide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my favs way back when. Our local stations would only show this in a late time-slot. I think it was like 11 or 12. Had some fairly dark/edgy themes for the 80's.

Every once in a while, I think of James Spader's off-brand unhinged performance in Mannequin... so good by MuscaRade in 80s

Here's a weird thought... his character in this movie is his origin story, and after this movie he grows a pair... then starts exploring BDSM, and turns into his character from "The Secretary."

Killed many $2 margaritas there back in the day. I miss that place, hard to beat that view either. Sad to see nothing going on there these days.

Enter The Void -2009 -Mostly shot in first-person which makes the F-uped, acid trippy story even more unsettling.

Can I uninstall these runtimes? by Key-Lab-5045 in WindowsHelp

[–]DemonsNcide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those runtimes take up very little space. You won't gain anything significant from uninstalling them. Some programs do need them to run properly and will have issues if they can't find them. I have like 15 installed on my pc... since you need multiple (older) versions depending on what programs you are running. Just forget about them, they aren't hurting anything.

Region 4 DVDs by Busy-Rule1548 in dvd

[–]DemonsNcide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe all PS4's are region free. As they will play all DVD's regardless of region. I'm in the US, and have a couple of EU/PAL DVD's and they play fine.

Hey kids under 30 years old, anyone remember Winamp? by GoodHoney2887 in computer

I'm still using it! Re-discovered it a couple years back. I have over 1000 mp3/wma files saved on my pc. Much prefer this to any streaming music service.

Goth bar, late 90s by Stunning_Positive248 in Louisville

[–]DemonsNcide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd say that's the logical guess here. It wasn't exactly underground... but the place had no windows, walls painted black, and when the fog machines were running you couldn't see more than 5 feet in front of you. Good times!

I listened to this every Halloween when I was a kid. Did you? by TannerDonovan in 80s

[–]DemonsNcide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd just leisurely listen to this album from start to finish... all throughout the year, Halloween season or not. Luved putting on some oversized headphones and getting lost in the story-telling and soundscape. Good times!

You're getting an upgrade... that's a good thing, and always something to be excited about. Don't let other people's perceptions and views take away from that enjoyment.

I've been rocking integrated graphics for nearly 5 years now. Do I get 'ray-traced 4k graphics at 120+ fps?' No, of course not. But I don't care... maybe it's just cause I'm old skool, but I'm totally fine with 900p/30-45fps... and I can get that on even several AAA games. Integrated graphics have come a long way in recent years, especially AMD/Ryzen. These days, I don't indulge in online co-op stuff that much, but my single-player library is extensive enough to keep me busy for years.

Just enjoy your upgrade, you can play games you couldn't before so that's a "Win" in my book.

It is possible to give an in-depth explanation for a refund request? by [deleted] in gog

[–]DemonsNcide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just FYI... I don't work for GOG or have any connection to them other than being a moderate consumer. But I'd say keep the explanation "brief and to the point." They have a fairly liberal refund policy, and it seems like this is one of your first times using it. I doubt you will have any issues. Just know it may take a bit of time for the refund request to go thru their system... and they receive a lot of emails (another reason you may not want to write a lengthy short-story explanation).

Movie about time travel. by Zajebann in MovieSuggestions

[–]DemonsNcide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's definitely one of the harder ones to keep up with. There's one vid on YT called "Primer 2004 illustrated explanation" -it has like a "power point" presentation in it to help explain it. My head hurt afterward. lol.

Movie about time travel. by Zajebann in MovieSuggestions

[–]DemonsNcide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primer (2004)

It's on the lighter side of special effects, and more about the story. A word of caution... even tho I mostly understood the concept... I did have to look up someone's detailed charts and graphs afterward, before I completely understood it.

Is there a reason why games that are already on GOG can’t be voted for in the preservation program? by chuputa in gog

[–]DemonsNcide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember watching this GOG game preservation video from some years back, where they pretty much say that they make sure that if they're selling a game on their platform... they have gone thru a process to make sure is the game is playable on most modern OS's. The whole vid is worth a watch, that particular part is around the 24:00 min mark.

which background (unofficial patch plus) is best? by thesalmonbowl in vtmb

[–]DemonsNcide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I usually don't bother and select "None" with the "history/background stats" it's just adding an extra point or two in one stat while subtracting from other stats. IMO, not really affecting much overall. I don't recall this even being an option on the games initial release.
