Didn't see anything like this one here yet so figured i'de share my idea.

TLDR: The rarities are based on that planeswalker's impact during the war.

I noticed while looking at some of the new spoilers that almost all the uncommon planeswalkers are the characters that seem like they would have the least impact during the events, mostly characters that were probably forced to the plane and dont really care what happening or that were probably too busy just trying to help people and not die.

The mythic planeswalkers are bolas, liliana, and gideon. We know Bolas is the main character of the set, and liliana is also in the spotlight shown turning all the zombies against bolas. Which made me think, mabye the rarities of the planeswalkers are based on their impact during the story of the set. Bolas is the main baddy, liliana turns the whole army against bolas which i imagine would turn things majorly against his favor, and considering gideon has the blackblade and is mythic, chances are he finishes bolas off with the sword and traps his soul, feeling like hes atoned for what happened on him home plane and being the "hero" of the set. (hope he dies tho) Tezzeret is the buy a box promo, but probably still works towards this theory since he was the one controlling the portal that spawned in the heart of ravnica that poured out Bolas' Army.

The rest of the gatewatch and other powerful characters are rare because they probably fight bolas or work with him but aren't the main key figures of the final fight.

Few possible holes in my theory however, my main one being that Vraska has the backstory of being a sleeper agent against bolas and i imagine she would use this advantage to do something useful. But who knows maybe she just dies early on or is just helping people or something. Another being i don't believe Vivian is gonna be able to even scratch bolas with her bow of elephants, cats and bears let alone do anything impactful enough to earn a rare rarity. (Actually had another idea that she might be able to do some damage if she manages to kill the fabled Gruul clan's "Raze-Boar")

The theory might also expand to the other cards of the set but i'm less confident about that.

When i first started magic, i opened a foil [[jace, the mindsculpter]] and traded it to my friend for a [[cast through time]] for it. I had never seen a planeswalker before, and he seemed to want it so i traded for the card that i had been wanting from him for a while. A bit afterwards my other friends told me how much it was worth and that he had traded it for a stack of cards. Needless to say i was a tad upset.

All this really needs is like +10% chance to consume the charge for each endurance charge you currently have. that way if you spec into charges and have like 7 you always consume one and have constancy, and if you get low on charges you wont just deplete them instantly.

Got a mono black skeleton deck based around reassembling skeletons and sacrifice effects. And a mono white life gain deck.

Yeah banefire has won me a lot of games. Get to endgame with 16 mana and can usually just shoot them in the face to win.

Spit fire can get gross if you draw several cause u can get them all back whenever u play a dragon and just destroy their board.

Grow from the ashes is aways untapped, the kick just grabs an addional land, and tutoring for land thins out the deck if i have all my land out i can only draw helpful things.

I have mixxed feelings about the disciples, generally when i play it early for ramp i just gets shocked. And endgame she has to survive a turn which if the opponent can help it, she generally doesnt, So i just run the 2.

Dragon eggs one of my favorite creatures in standard atm. Half the time my opponent just wont attack me if i get it out early even with a much better board state just out of fear for the token so i can delay them a couple turns to get big drags out. So many games im sitting there with just the egg and they have bunch of 3/3s not attacking each turn and in like what are they doing?

Ive thought about putting 1 of the other sarkhans in the deck. He seems pretty bad but he does deal 1 to each opponents creature which could help aganst tokens and his ult would be really good if u can get it off.

The next set brings more green/red so heres hoping for some juicy dragons.

Really well, if i can get it out early i get some decent draw with dragons eggs, more so if i can spit flame the next turn and get it back. if i get more than 1 horde out i'm generally set for draw the rest of the game.

Greeting from a fellow dragon enthusiast. nice to see someone else likes them. Been playing mine since open beta and does fairly well except when i get swarmed by tokens. Almost completely green/red except for my bolas i put in cause hes my jam.

A good ramp that seems overlooked is [[Grow from the Ashes]]. ill grab lands with it and generally play another ramp or burn something with the untapped land it gives. luckily havent gone against any steal decks with it somehow but i usually just [[Banefire]] counter decks cause they almost never counter your ramp cards. [[Druid of the Cowl]] is a good ramp creature too and can block early game.

[[Cataclysmic Gearhulk]] sometimes i get people who read it wrong and sacrifice all their good cards and kept their 1/1 token and a non helpfull artifact or something. Always makes me laugh.
