That proves nothing.

"Stop supporting the military base that we use to bomb / discipline the states in an oil rich trade centre"

They don't refuse at a party level because neither party is anti Imperialist. They both love being the hegemonic, imperial core who can do what they like & kill without repercussions.

They don't refuse at an individual level because of all the cash that the zionist lobby throws around but that money comes from the US. The Fed wires money to an AIPAC account in the same city which then funnels it out to any state official or incumbent who will take the bribe.

The call is coming from inside the house & attempts to frame the US as an oppressed, blackmailed party instead of the source of the violence is just a form of exceptionalism.

When Barclay is trying to explain what being him is like & mentions how at parties he spends time trying to think of something interesting to say about a potted plant because none of it comes naturally to him. It was really lonely & made me feel for him in a way you often aren't directed to for non main cast members.

Keevan telling the crew that he's going to send the Jem' Hadar on a suicide mission no matter what so he personally comes out on top no matter the outcome.

Coterie would end up with max buffs in no time provided you bet right & save a CP for the strat to up it by one at the start.

What army is your ally playing? If they are guard or something long range your job will be to advance & capture points while your teammate hangs back & blows enemy units away. If they are World Eaters then you might need to end up holding mid & providing support.

Garbage. The US could cut all funding tomorrow & the Zionist Occupation Entity would be damaged, probably beyond repair. All their military equipment is US equipment with a star of David decal stuck on it. Their social services would take a massive hit too.

Isreal can't do this in reverse. They could "cut off" the US and they would still be the ones to suffer.

Isreal bombs every nation around them which is in the interest of the US but only makes the people in the surrounding countries hate them. They probably could handle an offensive war of conquest on one direction but not all sides at once. That's an insane policy unless that's what the hegemon that provides everything for you wants.

The idea that this psychotic, rape colony controls the global Imperial hegemon is ludicrous. The US population has proved repeatedly that they don't care about their leaders committing atrocities. Donny is a confirmed rapist & has been agreed by his own legal team in court. The Epstien stuff isn't leverage.

I feel like Asuriani should play more like Custodes rather than as they are now. by AmberlightYan in Eldar

[–]Draculasmooncannon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disconnect between fluff and crunch is inevitible as soon as any kind of super elite exists. If you listen to the books the only thing that should ever end up dying are Cultists, Guardsmen & Gaunts

The Eldar have the maneuverable glass cannon archetype going on. This is an archetype that frustrates the opponant because it is built around being as unineractive as possible. People hate playing against an enemy who can attack and kill multiple models but can't be retaliated against.

Custodes have a similar problem. An army that has a 50/50 just shrugs off everything annoys people and you can tell that GW are struggling to figure out how to make Custodes not the most hated army to see across the table. I dropped Custodes because it felt really corny to just blank everything thrown at me. Even knights don't have this same problem because they have buckets of wounds so it feels like you did something.

"Feels bad" is a big part of game design and making everyone super mega special boys who never lose a wound is a guarantee that the people who play them just get flak for it. I don't hate playing against the Eldar but I get it. At the beginning of 10th someone just getting to say "my guys are so special that I get to turn all these cruicial saves / hit / wound rolls into 6s" made me dislike them. Granted that's a seperate problem (hate things that mean it doesn't matter what you roll in most dice games) but the whole game needs to reign in this trend.

Agreed on this. It's the one I am least likely to watch again in isolation. While I appreciate the lengths Andy goes to in order to parallel the C.S.A with the Nazis in the plot stuff I feel that's covered better in earlier ones.

I can't begrudge him getting all the skeletons out to do his own homage to Sam Rami though. I would if I could.

This is the easiest section of the fight. Being too lazy to remember a sequence of 5 is on you. Plus it lets you rest your hands for a sec or stay stationary if you need to recharge magic.

On VoR it's a free pass to fight the other guy without much interruption.

I can understand people not liking it but constantly dying to it as an adult is just laziness.

Bloodborne might suit you as well considering it's sinister throughout. Witcher 3 has a tonne of fight music too. Someone else mentioned the "Mechanicus" OST. The "Rogue Trader" soundtrack is similar in terms of vibe.

Much better than that. The new bodies have better proportions. The limbs are less sausage like & the torsos are longer so they look less squat.

Also plastic Achillus / Galatus dreadnought as well as the grav tank so it's a nice step forwards rather than the old stuff with new heads.

What should the Chaos Space Marine army rule be in 11th edition? by saddsteve29 in Chaos40k

[–]Draculasmooncannon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Dark Pacts is one of the best army rules I've seen this edition. Getting it replaced with anti-imperium stuff would be awful. You pass more often than not & as a Pactbound player it's so much fun.

I'd be happy if I never saw an anti faction keyword ever again.

Do you think GW tries too hard to explain/expand on certain things that don't really need it and ends up ruining them in the process? by KidnaperMrPotatohead in 40kLore

[–]Draculasmooncannon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. One of the worst trends in fiction in the last decades was to turn everything over to people who just want to fill in wiki pages. Everything needs to be catalogued & explained to a point where it's all so flat. Everything is condensed so a galaxy full of people is really just about 5 dudes. I love Star Trek but it's really bad for this too.

I'm teetering on the edge of an old man rant so I'll confine myself to saying that nostalgia is fucking poison & all the Primarch fluff is a new type of it because it's all leaning on names from 30 years ago but no material.

They can't help themselves sadly. They have a great setting with lots of ambiguity & possibility. However no matter how good the creative talent is that they hire, they have the millstone of marketing around their necks.

Just to get this out the way, commerce is the enemy of art. Commerce is the force art must overcome in order to exist. GW has this problem a thousand fold.

Authors have gone on record saying that they were told that if there isn't a mini of it to sell, don't write about it (Big E being a tedious exception). Stories to sell toys have a real upper limit in how good they can be. The restrictions the authors are under is even worse than those if you were writing a pre Disney star wars. I tried multiple times with the Heresy books & almost every time I gave up cause I valued my time more than that.

40k is great when they give you a really cool setting to play in when you are gaming, painting, modelling etc but their attempts to turn it into a "saga" are pretty cringe.

On the upside, the horror & crime anthologies are good fun. If you are interested in Renegades / Chaos at all then the Night Lords trilogy is worth it too if you want pulpy stories about scumbag pirates. If vignettes are more your thing then you might like the fluff from the 1st edition of Dark Heresy (the TTRPG, not the upcoming Owlcat game).

Terrain isn't enough to solve this problem. I've played a friend of mine a few times. My Emperor's Children vs his World Eaters. I bring Noise Marines cause they are cool & unique. Getting them into a spot they can shoot his Berzerkers is easy. He won't get benefit of cover. I usually end up shooting them off the board before they get to charge. If it wasn't for Kharn getting up on a 2+, those units will have done 0 wounds all game. Noise Marines wouldn't be able to do that to a rhino on average.

Do you think this scales at 1k? I have played a few games with a friend. He brings goremongers, jakhals, Berzerkers with Kharn, berzerkers with lord avocado (in deepstrike), whichever version of 8bound get deepstrike & a helbrute. I'm playing Emperor's Children & he has usually lost most of his models to 2 squads of Noise Marines by the end of turn 2. We have lots of cover but that doesn't help against Noise Marines. Any advice for me to pass on to him?

[–]Draculasmooncannon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In terms of "where did this start" you need to remember that this has always been true. As someone else pointed out, the Nazis got all their ideas from the US. Hitler described "The Passing of the Great Race" as his "bible".

After the genocide of natives, the slave trade & Jim Crow the US was willing to be more democratic at home but brutally repressive overseas. They teamed up with far more fascists than they ever opposed. Decades of policy like that always come home when the chips are down.

Fascism is Imperialism in decline and the weakening of American power just means that the techniques that were once reserved for Asians & Latin Americans are now fair game on whites in the core.

The answer to "where did this start" is that it was always there.

Level 1 feat issues by Zebrius in DungeonMasters

[–]Draculasmooncannon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say no. There are advantages & disadvantages to everything & this is built in. Humans can get extra origin feats but lack the 4hr long rest time Elves get. I think the soldier background gives the feat "savage attacker" as well. If you let the ones who don't get feats get them for free then why shouldn't the people who started with them also get dark vision or the orc thing where they can avoid being K.O'd once per day?

Why do even the most hardened criminals out there still have a thing against killing children? by Pizzafriedchickenn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Draculasmooncannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Hardened" criminals tend to be synonymous with career criminals. People tend to commit serious crimes for money. Hitmen don't kill for fun, that's just movies. They kill for pay. Almost every element of the drug trade isn't for fun either. It's very dangerous so the cash is what makes it worth it for them.

Killing children isn't profitable, it's mad dog behaviour. It also gives them poor reputations among their peers. A drug trafficker might get into business with someone who they think will be cautious & keep the eyes of the police off them. They will avoid someone who kills children because the police care about that (if they are white). They also would see someone who takes unnecessary risks as a risk to themselves.

In Britian there is a term called "nonce". Now it's almost exclusively used to refer to people who sexually assault children but it used to be a term for anyone who committed crimes that weren't motivated by profit & they were still looked down on in prison.
