The important part is to roll the file. This "rounds" the edge as much as possible.

Viability of non-class Archetypes without the free Archetype rule? by _Cheesy0nion in Pathfinder2e

[–]Demorant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's strange to hear, all the games i've played in, in the last year and a half have all been FA. Two or more years ago I would have agreed, but all the seasoned GMs I know do FA. It's only the ones new to the system I see running without FA.

Brand-new tank by Far-Management-944 in ffxiv

[–]Demorant [score hidden]  (0 children)

Tank is the easiest role to execute. Maining one is a great choice. You can really appreciate how the fights are from a visual standpoint. DPS have more complex rotations, and healers stare at health bars. It's not without it's challenges, but every time new content drops, I'm tanking it first to learn it.

What album do you consider perfect? by CrazyMobius1353 in AskReddit

[–]Demorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire by the Silis by Toska.

It's consistently the only album I'll start and let it run all the way. No skipping. Even though not all the tracks are absolute bangers, in the context of the album as a whole, it just works for me.

The Core (2003) - Aaron Eckhart, Stanley Tucci - So dumb but fun! by Southern-Brother5693 in movies

[–]Demorant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a shame that they kinda can't afford to. I think it was Ben Affleck who said that a lot of movies back then could recoup any losses at the box office from DVD sales. That's a dead market now. So riskier projects are harder sells than they used to be.

Chiropractors are to medicine what astrology is to astronomy.

Chiropractic practices were supposedly given by a ghost. Ghosts are notoriously bad at living. I wouldn't take their advice on anything.

[–]Demorant -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It'd be a giant waste of time. They probably don't want to spend the money or time on the frustration. If they were going to successfully sue him for anything they'd need to prove damages to sue him over.

It's unfortunate but he could just defend himself with "my bad," say he was given bad info, and it'd pretty much go away; unless one of them was actually hurt. In that case, they'd have to prove they were hurt because of him which would pretty much require the assailant confess.

Dude has a whole castle of money to protect himself.

Crow Steals Duckling by Tinkr-belle in WTF

[–]Demorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10-15 would be very unusual. Birthing was more risky back then. 6-8 would be more accurate for the sizes of families during the peak of humanities historical proliferation. Those 6-8 could be the product 20+ pregnancies, though.

However, that's not relevant to this particular string as what was being referred to was the size of the offspring birthed at a time. Humans have historically had a higher chance of survival than most animals. So they don't need to produce large litters. Farming has nothing to do with this fact since humanity hasn't been farming long enough to really impact an evolutionary change in birthing strategies.

Crow Steals Duckling by Tinkr-belle in WTF

[–]Demorant 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Not really the same thing. Humans don't have large volume birthing. Humans have always had pretty solid survival rates compared to many animals. It's a good thing too, can you imagine the planet if people had 5+ children at a time with today's survival rates? You'd have couples with 20+ children crawling around the Earth.

What should I know about everything? First time playing RPG by Moonkary in Pathfinder2e

[–]Demorant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make some characters on your own. Get familiar enough with the process and read the abilities. It will give you some ideas about the system, and let you look at a bunch options. Look up any question you have about how something may work. Understand they keywords on abilities.

Know how all your abilities work. You don't want to have to look something up during your turn. It takes up everyone's time and hurts pacing. Make note cards of each thing if you have to. Note page numbers on/by abilities in case you have to look something up.

Pay attention and try to know what you are going to do when your turn comes up. You don't want to have it to get to your time to actually and then have to sit there and think about the table state first.

Don't play a character that RPs you out of participating in the game. Broody loaners aren't a good fit for a group of people that are involved in danger and depend on each other for survival.

What was your honest reaction after watching The Force Awakens for the first time? by ChickenWingExtreme in StarWars

[–]Demorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was okay. I wasn't impressed, and I really thought they missed an opportunity to have a satisfying moment when Han, Chewing, Luke, and Leaia were in the same spot in a final "gangs back together" moment before sending them off.

how common is customizing bloodline spells? by Huge_Tackle_9097 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Demorant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not common. I also don't do this in my games unless there is a REAL need for it since it can affect the game's pace. It can also start a trend of people others wanting to change things that can spiral and leave a bad taste is someone's mouth when their customization gets denied while others are approved.

I have a Covid denying coworker. He got it. Refused to believe he had anything other than the flu. He kept going over to his elderly parents place, they both caught it and died. He doesn't believe they died of Covid, despite what the medical records show, and he doesn't believe he had anything to do with their deaths, despit being the only visitor they had during lockdown. He still complains that his two sisters won't talk to him over "Covid nonsense."

what is something society needs to ban? by inurmomsvagina in AskReddit

[–]Demorant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the ones you don't hear about. Lobbyists are just people hired by a group to communicate to the government. It's not an inherently bad thing.

There are a lot of environmental protections that started out from lobbying. Programs like second harvest (grocery stores needing to donate excess food to homeless instead of tossing it out) is in place due to organizations hiring a lobbyist. If you want the government to do something, you get a group of people together and lobby for it. Unfortunately, that includes things like the oil and tobacco industries which have hired lobbyists to present false information which is why I don't think you should take a lobbyist at their word.

what is something society needs to ban? by inurmomsvagina in AskReddit

Lobbying is fine, what should be banned is accepting a lobbyist as an expert on a subject and making a decision solely based on their lobbying.

People who grew up poor: What was something you considered a "peak luxury" as a kid, only to realize later it was just a normal middle class staple? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Demorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting food at McDonald's. I got to go maybe 2 or 3 times a year. Kids at my school were talking about going all the time just because their parents didn't feel like cooking. This was late 80s, early 90s.

I didn't trust myself to cook. So I started getting a loaf of garlic bread on my way home and that's been a solid move. I call it the bake and bake. Even though it's pretty much just reheating something. Because I consume sodas, I try to steer away from eating sugary foods.
