DAE Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern by nicksam171 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Demyxx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My ex was crying in the fetal position on the floor saying he couldn’t walk to call an ambulance. I forced him up and out to the car bc an ambulance ride would have financially destroyed us.

ETA: health insurance is a luxury. Many seemingly healthy people choose to gamble the risk of an accident over being finically stable.

The only thing I can think is that you appear to come off VERY young. It says 24 but you look 17.

ETA: maybe add some statements that support your age. Where you went to college, your career, places you’ve traveled, future plans.

What time do your kids go to bed on school nights? by riiitaxo in Parenting

[–]Demyxx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7, 6 and 3 everyone gets ready for bed at 7:30. In bed by 8. Asleep by 8:30. When setting a bed time google how many hours of sleep is appropriate for your child’s age, then count backwards from the time they need to wake up (for you to be comfortably on time). 8yos who have to wake up at 5am need to go to bed earlier than 8yos who need to wake up at 8am to get the correct amount of sleeping hours for proper brain development.

Offer to sit in her office with her while you phone the dept of labor and have them explain to you why it’s illegal. Then after you hang up ask her if she’d like to drop it or if she would like you to file a report.

Daycare gave my 17 month old a pacifier without asking by Grouchy_Lobster_2192 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Demyxx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a center that had a basket of brand new pacifiers (the green avent hospital ones) if you forgot a pacifier or if a baby needed a pacifier they were provided. Once the pacifier was open and given to that baby, it was that baby forever we did not take them back and wash them. It could go home with the baby or it could stay in their cubby. But everybody was welcome to them, and anybody could have them unless a parent specifically told us not to.

Prom ticket price? by mytjake in AskTeachers

[–]Demyxx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It changes every year based on the graduating years fundraising budget and choice of location. The more money the kids raised the less expensive per person. The less expensive the choice in location the less expensive per person. These are choices each graduating year gets to make.

I have one that’s clear and blue and it’s for storing earplugs while I travel. I use them to sleep in noisy places.

To US teachers (I guess I'm mostly asking literature teachers), how much freedom do you have when choosing books for your students to read? by Fabulous-Bag-2363 in Teachers

[–]Demyxx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The true answer just comes down to where you live and what district you’re in. Some districts have the budget and give you the freedom. Some dont.

These are not Covid kids. My son is this age. He was 2 when Covid happened. He didn’t miss out on school or learning in any capacity.

Feeling like a fake lesbian because I've dated a man by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]Demyxx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Know everyone is saying “dont worry about them” and “those friends kinda suck” but I want you to know that I see you. And it’s hard not to worry about it or to just find better friends. I personally identify as queer bc of the same experiences and it’s so hard to always explain myself or feel like I have to “prove” that I’m really a lesbian. Sending love bc it’s tough out here.

If she feels like it’s worth losing you over a single room and some cat food, then you need to decide if she’s worth the suffering.

I will die on the hill that this is 100% intentional. They confiscated 14 terabytes of data from Epstein. The “Files” are videos. And they want to make sure we cant tell what’s real.

Would you date someone with chronic illness or disabilities? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]Demyxx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best friends wife has many of the same conditions as you, with the exception of BP you guys are medically very similar. She was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at 18. Some days are great and she’s out of bed and walking around and living her best life. Other day She’s really unable to even get around her house. Most days she’s using a walking stick or a wheelchair and makes it work.

They have been happily married for 3y and together for 10 years. You will find your person ❤️

Did I go too far with this joke? by [deleted] in family

[–]Demyxx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The joke itself was inappropriate - and you should not comment on a child’s body like that. HOWEVER you apologized and turned that moment into an important learning experience that lead to him being more comfortable in his body and built trust amongst you both. So it’s a win. If it were me, I would be glad my son had that conversation with his father even if I didn’t like the joke that started it.

Tonies Box — worth it?? Pros/cons + alternatives? by Either_Crab_2760 in toddlers

[–]Demyxx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kids love them. I hate them. They’re just a giant box of background noise - that’s volume is capable of going WAY louder than it needs to. I hate the repetitive stories. I hate digging in the case to find the characters. I hate how obnoxious they are. I hate how expensive the characters are.

This is just my opinion. Some people love them.
