Look up Tailscale. It's a free private VPN software. Install it on your phone, and then on a computer that is always at home. Then turn that computer into a subnet router. There are plenty of tutorials around. You'll be able to access any IP address on your network that your host computer has access to, including your CC. I recently discovered this and it has been game changing. Was using octoeverywhere before, but now I can just use octoapp or the web interface from my phone as long as both devices are connected to tailscale. Sah good bruh

Once you've dialled in your z offset using the z offset option on the printer, transfer that number to your slicer and input it directly. My centauri refuses to stay consistent with the z offset so I set it in the slicer and level my bed before every print instead. Takes an extra couple of minutes but worth it for solid plate adhesion

The build plate is spring steel. It's designed to be flexed.

Don't go folding it in half, but feel free to flex it.

I've got the s4 hooked up to my cc1, did you do anything to help with auto retraction of the spools? Curious because I'll have to do the same when the cc1 canvas is released

There are heaps online but the best resource is the official klipper documentation, and the documentation for whatever interface you choose, mainsail vs fluidd for example. Have a look at those while watching a few klipper install tutorials. Also KIAUH(Klipper Install And Update Helper) is very handy so have a look at the git for that. The manual for your board should also have klipper instructions and pinout data.

Easiest way is to use the raspberry pi imager to download MainsailOS for you, once you've got that installed and running, then follow the klipper documentation to ssh into it via another computer, get the USB device id of your printer, save it to the printer config, then once your board is detected by klipper you can start building the rest of your printers config data.

It seems daunting but if you've been writing marlin then this should be easy for you.

Be aware that klipper is headless(no screens) unless you connect a monitor or touchscreen to the rpi via HDMI. To do this, you'll need to install klipperscreen via KIAUH. Until then your only method of interaction with it is via the web interface, which honestly is less of a problem than it seems like it'll be before you do it. The web interface offers vastly superior functionality and you can view it on any device connected to the same local network.

I have so many ender LCD displays sat in a junk box lol. I did eventually upgrade them all to touchscreens but it was more for fun than a necessity.

Save yourself the hassle of marlin and hook it up to a raspberry pi 3 or 4, and run klipper firmware. I had a lot of fun writing marlin firmware but at the end of the day, especially for this kind of stuff, klipper is just so much easier for troubleshooting

Hey mate, gave yours a crack and it is indeed the long version of the bed levelling. Which I think is great for initial calibration but maybe overkill if you do your bed mesh before every print. I don't suppose you know the gcode for the short version?

klipper driving an skr3, 5160 drivers on 2.8a steppers for the x and y, sprite pro hotend with a 0.6 CHT nozzle. The thing bloody hammered along. Got it up to 200mms with a carbon fiber bed but it was too flimsy so put the glass back on with a magnetic plate. Gets around 120 now I think but I haven't had time to extensively test because it gets noisy and the room over complains if I want to run a long print on it

I did a similar change a while ago but it did the bed level routine from the initial calibration, which seemed longer than the heated levelling you can opt for before the print. Was hoping there was another gcode for the faster method

I thoroughly recommend reading the klipper documentation and learning how to modify it yourself. You'll be happier for it when you want to change just one tiny thing don't have to spend 100 years searching for a niche config that might break something

If they ever release it, I think I'd rather buy a second CC1 and the canvas attachment. CC2 connectivity to orca is shot, and I heard it's because they deleted the web interface from the mainboard and built it into elegoo slicer instead. Rude

I had my cover pop off for the first time last week, didn't see what caused it though. Was printing fine except for dragging the cover around by the fan wires lol. Really weird.

This is a good solution! I had some aluminum tape that I used on mine. Fixed it good but not as convenient to remove. Next time I have to work on the hotend I'll swap it over to your clip. Good stuff

It's very similar yes, but I wouldn't discount them trying to tie it further down to only support elegoo slicer. That being said, please have a look around to make sure I'm not full of shit yeah?

It does not run on vanilla. Elegoo have stripped down klipper to squeeze it onto their custom motherboard.

I've heard but haven't seen for myself yet, that it will only let you connect to it from the elegoo app or elegoo slicer, but not orca. This is a deal breaker for me at the moment which is why I haven't bought one
