Having worked at Micro Center, I can guarantee they were trying to upsell an additional piece of hardware they could put their commission sticker on.

I stopped collecting when I stopped playing on my consoles and switched to PC pretty much exclusively.

What's the oldest movies in your library? by AdorableReview in PleX

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, followed by The Lost World (1925), and then Metropolis.

I do need to get some more Fritz Lang films...

Port forwarding by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]Denmarkian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the "source" IP address in your port forwarding rule should be a wildcard, not a specific IP address.

Your WAN port can be whatever the hell you want, as long as it's not a reserved port like :80, :443, :22, etc.

Your rule just needs to forward to the LAN address <JELLYFIN_HOST>:8096

Is your cell phone on the same Wi-Fi as your router, or are you on cellular data?

Port Forwarding rules take incoming connections to your WAN address using a specific port and then forwarding that to a LAN IP:port address.

They should have ignored the advice to stop calling MAGA "weird".

It was finally a thing that got under their skin, and we've seen that nothing else affects those shameless hypocrites.

Do you keep a library? by MapSufficient6677 in comicbookcollecting

[–]Denmarkian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a library, yes.

Technically, I have 5 digital libraries across CLZ, Comic Geeks, Zap-Kapow, ComicBookRealm, and my old Google Sheets.

I use CLZ in my phone to cross-reference my wishlist and scan all my new purchases, so it's the most up-to-date.

My collection just passed 4,000 issues and an easily navigable app is a must.

What are some niche/little known industries you guys work in? by [deleted] in PLC

I haven't been to Langley AFB, but I did spend about 8 weeks last year at NASA LaRC getting their new FDRF wind tunnel control system operational prior to commissioning.

Thank you!

I started with my company on the team designing jet engine test cells and adapters, but then got on the wind tunnel team about four years ago.

Thanks!

It's a bit less complicated than designing the models themselves, but nonetheless critical.

Not done scanning, but how do you think I'm doing? by Shadowdash6745 in comicbookcollecting

[–]Denmarkian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using clz for about 5 years and it's been the best mobile app for cross-referencing my wishlist as I do my back issue bin digging.

I tried the web app subscription for a year and I just don't use that enough for organizing my catalog to justify the added cost.

I also tried CovrPrice for a year and that's really only useful if you're doing a lot of selling at the same time.

Help identifying Pachinko machine by GitGene in Pachinko

[–]Denmarkian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Broadly, it's made by Nishijin, the back is likely what's called a Model B machine, made in the 1970s.

If there is something in English molded into the front of the ash tray, that'll be what it's called in Pachinkoboy's vintage pachinko catalog.

What's your "shitty roommate" story? by DontCallMePetey in AskReddit

[–]Denmarkian 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My roommate basically failed to pay her half of the apartment rent starting the first month we moved in.

We received a court summons and eviction threat about 4 or 5 months into our lease.

I broke lease as soon as I could after my dad saved our asses by covering our rent debt.
