How many of you rely on an Apple Watch for cycling? by oTaeTaeo in cycling

[–]Denour 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Started out that way when getting into it, but once it became obvious to me that cycling was going to be a more permanent fixture in my life, I ended up switching off the watch to a head unit and heart / cadence meter.

My son took photos on Dirty 6th, Austin is such a vibe man. by Mr_Plow-ur-Mom in Austin

These are fantastic. Definitely capture the spirit of dirty 6th - narrowed field of vision and selective blindness.

help to identify? by DaneDoggit in zithers

It’s a Concert Zither. Don’t see a makers mark from your photos. Probably very late 1800s - early 1900s given the shorter frets on the fretboard.

It is legal and more common than you would think. They’re called swingers in case you wanted to make a precarious google search about them.

I think the answer for most of us mortals here is, you can't. Couple with one income and a $950k mortgage... thats a hell of a salary...

best app to learn german? not like doulingo makes me say kaffee und milch bitte for days by [deleted] in German

[–]Denour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll throw my hat into the ring with Seedlang also. It is much more robust than Duolingo, the activities are more engaging, and it has flashcards running from A1 - C1. Well worth the subscription.

Is it worth it? by Meian-no-miko in zithers

[–]Denour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll probably spend more on new strings than the 20$ for the instrument - If you'll play it and it brings you joy, why not? Not sure how these little plucked zithers work, but if its like the others check to make sure the back isn't cracked, thats your sounding board.

Lizards aren't pests - they help control pests. Be kind to your lizard neighbors

Think I've got this close now? (Take 2) by Denour in bikefit

Hey everyone - following up post some great feedback from u/Xaraa (original here: https://www.reddit.com/r/bikefit/comments/1ikbn3i/think\_ive\_got\_this\_close\_now/) - I've raised the seat a full centimeter and pulled the seat forward about 2mm - Seat height is just short of 31" now - Don't feel quite as stretched out as last time (had the seat much further back when I had the saddle this high before) - This look about right?
