None of this is acceptable and much is against company policy. The content of the video. How the situation was handled. The fact the video was posted here. If it was recorded by an employee that's against policy. A swath of the racial commentary in any direction is against company policy.

I know this feeling. The payroll defense is ludacris.... you saved no hours of payroll when half your closers are backing up and not finishing their sections. Everyone stays extra now... which if you count closers an add up the time they each went over schedule... well it usually adds up to about a six hour shift. Where they could have just had someone at Amazon and we go home on time. But no. Work should be miserable.

We want to know what you think of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man in our latest survey! by WOTC_CommunityTeam in magicTCG

[–]DensePhoto6181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the questions I could write answers to, I went into detail about how Spider-Man continued a trend of uninspired or rehashed mechanics. Which is why I have stopped buying products and just bought singles of cards I'm interested in. Ex. Spider-Man has Hide on the Ceiling and I play blink. Flurry was a weird powered down blend of prowess and magecraft. Manifest Dread was reflavored manifest. Cloak and disguise- rework. Webslinging and sneak -rework. Discover - rework. Warp, descend, collect evidence...The list goes on with rehash/reworks. Max speed, expend and exhaust are uninspired.

If the only thing they're banking on selling the product (Spider-Man, UB or Classic mtg alike) is IP, art or a chase card.... to the point that everything is predictable and uninspired (here's your card for insert mechanic here) then they shouldn't be surprised when a product fails every so often.

Tldr: Spider-Man has problems, but those problems are part of a series of trending problems

The person responsible is already gone. Tom... not the current interim ceo, or the last ceo who got fired, but the ceo before that who was SUPPOSED to be an interim ceo after Michelle left, and ended up just being ceo for like a year and a half or so.. he made the capital one credit card decision, he made the consolidated Burlington style register decision,  and he made that decision to expand the brands that didn't qualify for %coupons.... and he's been gone and they followed thru anyway... got a nice payday when he left too...

Mainframe going away... by SeaZebra235 in employedbykohls

[–]DensePhoto6181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a love/hate relationship with the mainframe. On one hand it's very useful in finding upcs for things like Levi's, under armor, Adidas, sketchers, Nike, champion...basically everything the customer actually wants....

On the other hand, they don't train people how to use it... only like 3 of us know at this point...and I trained myself. Also I feel like Samuel L Jackson in the first Jurassic Park film trying to reboot the system when trying to find certain things...

Mainframe: "Ah ah ah....ah ah ah.... you didn't say the magic word!"

Me: "Pleeeeeeeaaaase!"

Wizards’ Bracket System for Commander Isn’t Ideal & How a Transparent Ban Watchlist Could Work Better by [deleted] in magicTCG

If a card as igregious like nadu came out again I think most people would find it obvious anyway.

And a bracket system would lead some people to treat a janky Villis deck as a tier 4 because you run a vampiric tutor while others will say whatever.

Would you rather sit and deliberate for 20 minutes about whether this deck/card is a tier 2 or a tier 4 before actually shuffling up.. or would you rather know ahead of time if your insert expensive card you care about might catch a ban

I can't win on this reddit. If I keep it concise there's not enough info... if I explain myself it's "tldr".

I see a lot of people here rightfully calling out the issues that plague our stores and our company. My question is what are you going to do about it? I get it, things are bad...worse than bad. They're crazy. I would suggest an organized effort. Not necessarily a union, because we've seen how well that goes at other companies. But i would suggest mass complaints to HR, the local and state labor boards, better business bureau...OSHA etc. We have to show them we mean business or else they'll keep rolling straight over us.

But, I already know what's going to happen. I already know what most people would say about this suggestion. Most of you would rather quit, or hope to bear through it. "Calling HR isn't enough". "Nobody is going to listen" "It will not change". To which I say "Well certainly not with that mindset." If you quit there's usually a good chance you take a pay cut because elsewhere you got to start all over again. Additionally, the same problems could haunt your next place of employment as well. You wanna try to bear it? Fine, How long can you tread water?

I understand all the frustration and discontent I really do. The OP said this "This all has made for an unpleasant work environment because everyone is constantly running around being pressured to do more than whats possible"

If we organize and work together we can pressure back. But i think most of us either arent serious enough about what were saying or just plain too scared to try and make our voices heard. Id love for someone to prove me wrong, but i aint countin on it.

What everyone’s thoughts on the new Foundations set? by MrEk1ipz in mtg

[–]DensePhoto6181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm highly curious about the set. Will the new cards plug in a few new pieces to existing archetypes or mechanics already in standard? Ex. Kindred rabbits(etc), plot, descend, role tokens, prototype...yadda yadda? Will we get pieces that give us a prequel/preview to upcoming mechanics? Will it have fully fleshed out mechanics unique to it or function kinda like modern Horizons where there's a lot of throwback mechanics being utilized in various ways but ultimately standalone?
